Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle White.
Michelle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My professional career began with working directly with survivors of domestic violence. As a domestic violence and children’s counselor, I learned from the stories survivors shared. I often heard that disconnection, guilt, shame, and blame emerged frequently in their relationships with others and in their relationship with self. Self-love, self-care, and learning about healthy relationships were key components of the healing work that we would do together.
As my career continued, I noticed many of my clients wanted more accessible resources to support their healing journey. Survivors of domestic violence, as well as many other folks, are interested in caring for themselves and healing from their relationships. This need inspired me to create Gmichelle Self Care Resources and the guided self-care journal, Self Explore, Self Restore.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest struggle has been tapping into my courage! I have identified with being a social worker and a helper for a long time, so stepping into the roles of blogger, author and entrepreneur were unfamiliar to me. I have had to become a student to these roles, be open to learning and I had to get comfortable with the discomfort of making mistakes along the way.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me, success is having complete satisfaction and pride in who you are, what you do and what you have accomplished. For me to be successful, I have to have pushed through my fears, worked towards an important goal and stayed consistent in pursuing that goal.
