Today we’d like to introduce you to Miller’s Doghouse. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Miller’s Doghouse is a family-owned Atlanta-based dachshund kennel where dachshunds are our WORLD. These short-legged dogs have leaped into our hearts and have slowly taken over. Miller’s Doghouse became official in 2019, but we began our journey five years ago with our first dachshund, Reese. We were not strangers to dogs seeing that we already had a German Shepard (Bear) and a Rottweiler mix (Ace), but Reese was our first small dog. Even though he was small, his ego was far from that. In a matter of months, Reese took over the house with his fierce personality and instantly stole our hearts. Now, everyone that owns a dachshund knows that it’s hard to only own one. Needless to say, it was the start to a beautiful beginning.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not always been smooth. When we first started Miller’s Doghouse, both me and my husband were working full-time jobs. After a day’s work, the average person would be able to go home and relax, but not us. We would work one job just to come home and continue working. It was exhausting, but we loved it. There were many nights that bled into the morning, but we knew that one day all of our hard work would eventually pay off. We set small goals to accomplish and stayed focused. To this day the road is still not smooth, but we are learning and adjusting our program everyday. It is only up from here!

Here at Miller’s Doghouse we specialize in the Dachshund breed. We believe that dogs are an extension of family and should be treated as such. We pride ourselves in outstanding customer service and communication throughout the entire puppy buying process. There are tons of dachshund breeders, but our customer service and passion for animals set us apart from everyone else. Finding a puppy can be stressful, but we strive to make sure that we make the process as easy as possible.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Our dedication has been the fuel to our success. We are committed to making sure all of our customers feel like family during this entire process. Whether it is someone to share photos of your furbaby with or asking advise in training we make sure we make time to be there for all of our customers.
