Today we’d like to introduce you to Minon Bolton-Sarten.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Born in Mississippi to Bishop L W & Effie Bolton. I’m the baby out of 5. Been singing as long as I can remember. Grew up traveling and singing with my siblings before our father would preach. My siblings, we started a group called ONE ACCORD; we recorded and sang a few years together. This is where I got my training! I did my first tour with DeWayne Woods he taught me the importance of Great Character how it will carry you further than your gift! 2005 started working with a producer by the name of ASAPH; I gained the opportunity to do background vocals for Clark Sisters, Kim Burrell, Lowell Pye, Coko Clemons, Crystal Aiken and more! While doing this I was doing hair, I did hair for 10 yrs 1999-2009. 2009 I moved to Atlanta to help my fathers church I was preaching every other week. (Preached first sermon in 2000). In that same year, I began singing with Jj Hairston & James Fortune. Following that, I began the ministry of P&W for the first time for two years at House of Hope what was then called Greater Travelers Rest pastor E Dewey Smith.
Since my move to Atlanta in 2009 God has opened so many doors and my name has become somewhat of a household name.
Artist, I’ve been blessed to work with: Ted Winn, Donald Lawrence, Zacardi Cortez, Myron Butler, Canton Jones, Kirk Franklin, William Murphy, Todd Galberth, Isaac Carree, Kierra Sheard, Tye Tribbett, William Brothers, Greenleaf (tv show), & my family the Bolton Brothers.
I’m working on releasing a project of my own!
2012 married my husband, George Sarten; we have three amazing talented/gifted boys George Jr., Gabriel, and Gavin.
I currently lead worship at Elizabeth Baptist Church, Dr. Craig L Oliver is pastor & House of Hope, E Dewey Smith is pastor.
Please tell us about your art.
I spread the gospel through song! I’m a praiser/worshiper! Every door that God sends me through is with purpose; it’s intentional! So my prayer is father GRACE me for this moment, give me what I need for THIS assignment. I don’t consider myself to be a deep CHRISTIAN; I’m just connected! I can’t afford not to be!
My prayer is that the people will experience the power of God!
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
You are the artist, but learn the business don’t just put all of your trust in people KNOW THE BUSINESS so that no one will be able to abuse you.
