Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Wimberly.
Kristen, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a young black woman dating in my young twenties, I hit a place where I noticed that I was settling. Not even just me, but my friends around me and peers my age. A lot of women feel like they deserve the world and want to be treated as such. It becomes frustrating to secretly wish for someone to do something sweet, romantic, exciting or spontaneous when it’s just not in their DNA. Although there are some men who are creative when it comes to planning for a date, let’s be honest, most men aren’t.
I created Miss Kupid to give individuals the opportunity to be creative when it comes to their relationships. Miss Kupid takes the stress out of planning and creating the perfect date for any occasion in order to make your significant other happy. We strive to go above and beyond to give you the best experience possible for both you and bae.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not! There have been many challenges along the way outside of my control. Since we are still fairly new, it becomes a challenge when we are faced with multiple bookings in one day. For example, Valentine’s Day is our busiest day of the year. At times I wish that I had a team already built so that it isn’t overwhelming and I’m not stretching myself to thin. However, seeing the end result or the couple or giving amazing feedback from a client makes it well worth it.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Miss Kupid – what should we know?
Miss Kupid is a Love Agency with multiple components. Our biggest component is our Dating Service. Our packages are divided by age featuring “Young and Getting It”, “I’m Sprung”, “Grown and Dating”, and “For Better or For Worse”. From there, you can pick an occasion for you and bae (i.e., Birthday, Anniversary, Proposal, I’m in the Doghouse, Just Because, etc.) Next, the client completes a questionnaire that we use to create the perfect date. We give clients’ the option to include hotel set- up while they’re on the date, restaurant set- up, couples photo- shoot, private chef, etc. We take all of the load off and even allow our clients to keep business anonymous to take all of the credit with bae. Included with every date is a complimentary gift basket received during the night.
Miss Kupid also offers a Blog for single women to relate too filled with funny stories about dating experiences, heartbreak and finding love. Coming soon Miss Kupid will be launching its applications for Blind Date set- ups, “His and Hers” merch, and Speed Dating events in Atlanta.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Consistency, Creativity, God- fearing. Although I have yet to reach my surface, without these, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
