Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Lynn.
Hi Monique, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I developed a passion for fitness when I began teaching aerobics classes to inner-city children at the Boys & Girls Club and at after school programs in my hometown of Baltimore, MD. That passion eventually led me to become a certified Zumba instructor at private gyms. Knowing that I could help make people of all ages excited about being fit and healthy was fulfilling. It also sparked bigger goals for myself and prompted my move to Atlanta after graduating from Morgan State University. Since living here, I became a certified personal trainer and was promoted to Personal Training Director at LA Fitness. After gathering enough experience, I decided to launch my own business – Motivate by Monet LLC. My mission is to help my clients live their best healthy lives through fitness.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My entrepreneurial journey has been a relatively smooth one, but not without its challenges. Growing clientele and creating brand awareness while still managing to stick to my own workouts caused me to master multitasking.
I embrace moments of adversity because overcoming them makes me a better businesswoman and, hopefully, inspires others to do the same. The industry has definitely been a great teacher.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a certified personal trainer specializing in both weight loss and weight gain. I guide my clients in reaching their respective fitness goals, which often includes helping them build a booty! I’m most proud of my role in helping them reach their weight transformation goals. Witnessing my clients’ progress often encourages their family members to follow suit and make changes of their own. So the impact goes beyond the training sessions.
I genuinely care for my clients and their journeys. I think they can sense that level of care and my dedication to their wellness during each session, which sets me apart from many trainers.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
By definition, “faith is something that is believed especially with strong conviction; complete trust or confidence in someone or something”. Keeping the faith in God keeps me going through roadblocks or moments of self-doubt. This has been the key to my success.
