NaTeneshia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Modestly Bold® Magazine actually started from my photography company NaTeneshia Renée Photography and Design, which was rebranded from Capturing DREAMS by NaTeneshia. I wanted to submit my photography to a magazine but didn’t want the rejection so I created my own. While in the brainstorming process, God told me to help people while doing it. I’m an entrepreneur and it is hard sometimes learning from your mistakes. I love to help people and if I can help someone make 1 less mistake in business, then I’m happy.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This magazine journey has not been easy. It is hard to help people when you’re not a well known magazine. When I started this magazine, I had no clue on how to design and the ins and outs of marketing and advertisement. But with each issue, everything improves.

Modestly Bold® Magazine is a magazine that shines the spotlight on small businesses and community leaders. We like to promote their products and services. In the magazine we also include articles that education you on the different aspects of business like Business Credit, social media and so much more. What sets us apart is we allow you to tell your story in your own words. I’m most proud of Modestly Bold® Magazine is that we love to empower and educate others.

I give honor to God, the most high, for all His many gifts and blessings. My family and friends are some of my biggest cheerleaders and critics. They make sure I know when I’m doing good and when I need to change something. They are my listening ear when I need to vent and my clapping hands when I have a praise report. They help me stay balanced!
