Thanks for sharing your story with us Nia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I originally created Crowned with a ‘K’ two years ago with the purpose for it to be a lifestyle blog. I started it back up again after some challenges that happened in my life around November 2017 but, felt like something was missing and it felt like I was rushing to put out a product that wasn’t fully complete. Around April of 2018, after moving to Marietta, GA; I sat myself down and really evaluated my company and discovered a pattern that worked for me in the most crucial parts of my life. Whenever I was down and needed a pick me up three things were sure to make me smile: ART (abstract painting, Coloring, attending art shows .etc.) MOTIVATION (Self-care retreats, daily affirmations, self- help books) & MEDITATION. In the revamp of my company, I decided that these would be the pillars of my company. These things have not only helped me in my healing process but, I was able to help a few family and friends along the way. I have taken classes and have done my research and created the new and improved Crowned with a ‘K’.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has been far from a smooth road. I’ve been through several obstacles from restarting my company three times and rebranding it overall. Because I’ve restarted so many times many people have lost faith in my business coming through and I’ve lost the support from close friends. Also, explaining to people what my business is actually about can be an obstacle in itself. Many don’t understand meditation and won’t support what they can’t understand. But I was once told, “Don’t focus on the ten that won’t support you and be grateful for the five that do.” Once I did that my business has grown to more like-minded people for which my company was made for.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Crowned with a ‘K’ – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Crowned with a ‘K’ is a lifestyle brand that promotes positivity through art, motivation, and mindfulness. We specialize in Art shows, Motivational speaking engagements, and helpful guides on mindfulness and guides for meditations. We are known for our two positive acronyms K.W.E.E.N(Keeper of Wholesome Energy& Escaping Negativity) & K.I.N.G. (Key Individual Near Greatness). What sets us apart is that our whole company was created on making people feel great about themselves. This world can get stressful and crazy at times but we can give you the tools to remaining calm and know that things will get better and that this too shall pass.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that Marietta is close to the city but far enough that its apart from the commotion of the city. I love Marietta square and sometimes just go and sit in the gazebo to read. I also love the Marietta Coffee Company, it is actually my favorite place in the city. The coffee and pastries are awesome and the staff is so friendly. It is the perfect place for me to go and brainstorm and work on things for my company. The traffic is my least favorite but, traffic in Georgia is crazy anyway so that’s not much of a Marietta thing. I don’t have any bad things to say about Marietta and I even told my family and friends that I can see myself planting roots here.
