Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Velasquez.
Nicholas, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my career in 2017 in the Tampa Florida film industry. My VERY first time role was appearing in Tampa’s second best comedy short called The Laundry Party, directed by Carlos Seguro of 4everlos films. From there on, I starred in other films and other shows such as Domain Pictures Grey Room Havens Mill (saga) and 2019 award-winning film (for best action/crime) called Cold Dawn directed by Thomas Frick of Spotlightfrick21 Films. During my time in Florida, I landed a role OUT of my sexuality called Visions Of Love, directed by Anthony Caban of Deadshot Films. I relocated to Macon, Georgia to pursue my acting career and is currently signed with King Watts Talent Agency of Atlanta, Georgia. I recently appeared in 2020’s Super Bowl Ad for Lawyer Mark Jones.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. I had to stumble on obstacles as in family not supporting the move to Georgia, financials were below our MINDLY budget and just getting to Atlanta was hard, so we stopped in Columbus Georgia for a couple of years to get things started.
Please tell us about your work.
I’m an actor from Tampa, Florida who has relocated to Georgia. I am known for doing some background work with Ant-Man and the Wasp back in 2017, which released in 2018. I also know for Tampa Florida’s 2019 award-winning film called Cold Dawn directed by Thomas Frick and Visions of Love directed by Anthony Caban. Also, I recently did a commercial for lawyer Mark Jones.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say the role, Erin, in the comedy film The Laundry Party that was filmed in Tampa, Florida gave me more luck in doing more things.
