Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Malone.
Hi Nicole, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Nicole Malone. I was born in Fort Huachuca, AZ. I am an author, actress, spoken word artist, and philanthropist. I fell in love with the stage when I was in my first play in grammar school as the lead character. I realized that the stage was a vehicle that could be used to express oneself and tell impactful stories to audiences. I published two novels that were inspired by my life and others. My expression through novels, acting and spoken word events has been with the purpose of giving a presence to the silent voices that are often not heard, The voice of depression, mental illness, addiction and abandonment. I was faced with some of these misfortunes in my adolescence and use these vehicles to bring awareness and to encourage others that there is hope through Jesus Christ.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The struggles were used to teach, experiencing homelessness so I could have compassion for those who are homeless, marriage falling apart so I could allow God to teach me how to totally rely on him. Alcoholism and domestic violence within my family so I could be able to tell stories and help people channel their emotions into a positive expression through the art of writing, skits, plays and serving others.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a published author with two novels on Amazon currently. I have won spoken word events performed in Atlanta, Oklahoma and Philadelphia. I have a 501c3 nonprofit in Performing Arts where I’ve served the metro area of Atlanta. I wrote, produced and acted in my stage play in Decatur GA, which was entitled “Puddle of Lies.” I’m most proud of making a difference in other people’s lives and giving back. I think that’s what sets me apart from others, my genuine heart to serve and give.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
That although I look like a fashionista, I enjoy the simplistic things in life.
