Meet Noah Wright of Toast and Jam Community in Buford (Northeast OTP)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Wright.

Noah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Toast and Jam Community was built, and I mean literally designed, constructed, finished, decorated, and organized by my wife and I, and a few close friends. This gives the space tons of personality and character. It also has a sibling in Toast and Jam Studio, a thriving music and video production studio located next door in the same building. Toast and Jam was created because of our love for the creative and entrepreneurial community in Atlanta and the Southeast. We’ve poured ourselves into building, supporting, and contributing to those communities, and creating spaces to empower them was the best way for us to do that.

The recording studio came first in 2016, and soon after its creation, we realized that people could benefit from a community/coworking space that would also inspire creativity and productivity for other endeavors, so we started designing the Community in early 2018. By July, it was open and ready for members.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
From the start, we have really worked hard to make Toast and Jam a success. Although most of us who were involved with the design and physical construction worked full-time jobs, we still worked long hours in the evenings and weekends to complete it. Once we were up and running, we enjoyed a very nice welcome by like-minded people, and they supported us right away.

Unfortunately, in February of this year (2019), we suffered a fire that destroyed most of the Studio and damaged part of the Community. It took a full seven months to recover, dealing a major blow to our position in the creative community. Fast forward to today, and we are again enjoying the support of this amazing group of people.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Toast and Jam Community – what should we know?
Toast and Jam is a creative/office/coworking space on one side, and a commercial audio/video production studio on the other. We thrive when we work with and support artists and creative entrepreneurs.

The coworking area is available to members 24 hours a day, seven days a week so they can work on their own schedule. We always have snacks, coffee, drinks, and offerings from local bakeries for them to enjoy at no charge. The WiFi is fast and reliable, and there are plenty of comfortable places to relax and work. Members can utilize our mailbox service with real street addresses, and we even have private phone booths if needed.

Our members are also a major contributor to the vibe of our Community. They all work in exciting and varied industries, and they bring lots of energy and positivity to the space. They enjoy meeting each other and collaborating when possible.

The Studio side is known for the relaxed, creative approach to music creation, while producing world-class quality tracks, using both vintage and state-of-the-art gear. It’s a great vibe. One of our favorite productions is the “Toast and Jam Sessions” video series that can be found on our YouTube channel, featuring local and national artists performing their music live in the studio.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Optimism and positivity.

I think that the future is a rising road and everyone we meet is a new connection to a new opportunity. People know me to be someone who is always “down for whatever” and asking “why not?”. That culture is definitely reflected in the Community.
