Meet Pavielle Bookman of The Purpose Collective

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pavielle Bookman.

Pavielle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Part of me wants to say I stumbled into being a purpose coach but that doesn’t feel quite right. It doesn’t feel right because this was never my idea. I actually was doing some research for a different business I had started when I heard a still, small voice in my head tell me to create a program to teach people how to find what it is that they were placed on this earth to do. It caught me completely off guard because I knew it wasn’t anything I personally came up with.

In fact, I had no frame of reference for how to go about coaching people to find their purpose because I didn’t see anyone else doing it. But I knew this was God telling me to move into this lane, so I started. I created an email newsletter and formed The Purpose Collective community online and then The Purpose Collective podcast.

I understood that we aren’t entitled to be great when we start anything, so I kept that in mind as I got started on this assignment God gave me and I kept it moving. Now it has turned into this amazing thing that has allowed me to impact lives all over the world and collaborate with Grammy-nominated artists like Todd Dulaney and New York Times Best Selling authors like Mo Isom while doing it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road has definitely not been smooth, but it also has not been very bumpy either. The biggest struggle for me thus far has been making sure that I am being intentional about not leaning on my own understanding. There are days when I sit down to outline a podcast episode and I have absolutely no idea where to start or what to even say. I come up completely blank, which is scary for someone who releases new podcast episodes weekly. The reason I come up blank is because I’m trying to come up with what to say on my own, forgetting that this isn’t “my thing” to begin with. This is God’s thing that He has anointed me to do, so if I need guidance with knowing what to communicate to the people He’s trusted me to serve, then I need to seek Him instead of using my brain and intellect to come up with something to say.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Purpose Collective is a community full of movers and shakers who are committed to seeking out and pursuing the thing that they were created to do, and I get to lead them along their journey. I created this supportive ecosystem for purpose chasers that starts with my weekly email newsletter. It’s my diary of sorts where I share intimate, personal anecdotes about how God has me out here all outside of my introverted comfort zone changing lives lol. I also include some motivation, journal prompts to help readers dig deeper, affirmations, and confessions.

In addition to the newsletter, I host The Purpose Collective podcast where I get to teach and share stories of other people who are pursuing their calling in so many different ways like through music, fashion, being a celebrity hair stylist, creating skincare products, and so much more.

For anyone who is serious about taking their pursuit of purpose to the next level and wants to work directly with me one-on-one or in a group coaching environment, I also have a program called Positioned for Purpose that I open enrollment for a couple of times a year. Positioned for Purpose is the ultimate playbook for discovering purpose. It’s the only implementation program of its kind that teaches you the fundamentals of purpose, shows you how to discover it, and provides the tools to kickstart your discovery now.

When I really sit back and think about what I am most proud of, it’s definitely the impact I have been able to make in the lives of so many people in such a short time. The podcast has listeners in over 50 countries, which means that people all over the world are hearing messages on how to not limit God and believe for the life he has promised them. My community is intimate so I get to talk to people in it all the time and hear how their lives have been affected by this movement in some way shape or form, which is ultimately a testament to God’s faithfulness.

If you’re ready to really kick your pursuit of purpose up a notch, then the best place to start is the Path to Purpose quiz which helps you navigate your unique path to your purpose. You can find it at https://pavielle.com/quiz/

What does success mean to you?
Success is figuring out what it is you were created to do on this earth and doing it to the best of your ability. I love this definition because it has nothing to do with anyone else. We spend a lot of time comparing ourselves to the achievements of others but none of that matters because when God is determining whether we did well here on Earth, he isn’t going to be assessing how we did in relation to what someone else did. He will judge you for what you have done compared to what you were supposed to do, what you’re called to you. Your purpose.
