Today we’d like to introduce you to Douglas & April.
Douglas and April have both been in the industry for 8yrs. Starting at a salon in South Forsyth where they worked and built a strong friendship. After 6yrs Douglas left and started J.Sherman Salon in Buckhead in a studio space. After moving back to Atlanta, April reconnected with Doug and decided to relocate and join forces in the new space that they are in currently. Opening in February of 2016 they have been continuing to grow and make Atlanta a more colorful place.
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely! Everything was so serendipitous, it was meant to be! The Poncey-Highlands neighborhood has been so welcoming it has been an AWESOME experience!
What role has luck had in your life and career?
Good luck! We were able to get the first salon space we fell in love with! Jumping into it with no business plan and just knowing we were going to make it work! We are both believers in what you put out there, you will receive!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
A positive mind!
What do you love about our city and what do you dislike?
The diversity of the people. The art culture. The food… let’s just say almost EVERYTHING this city has to offer. We say almost, because, let’s be real, the potholes in the roads and the traffic sucks lol
