Today we’d like to introduce you to Quita Jones.
Quita, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started modeling in St. Louis, MO. Stl taught me how to hustle while following my dreams. At first I didn’t know what was I was doing or why. When I sat down and had a tough conversation with myself, I realized that I had outgrown my environment. My heart lead me here to ATL. Whole time, I knew exactly what I wanted my hustle to bring. I made the conscious decision to do the things that I never thought I could do and now I can say that I am a Singer, Rapper, Song writer, Model, Host, Mua, and soon to be store owner. Everything I ever learned has and continues to help me on this journey to becoming everything that I want, everything that I am.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely been tough at times but with every obstacle came a new lesson. If you’re not learning from what you’re going through then you need to stop and have a talk with yourself as well.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am proud to say that I am my brand. I am a skilled model. I specialize in photo shoots, video shoots, and walking the runway. I love fashion shows. I had to get over the initial anxiety of every thing that could go wrong on the runway but I’m so glad I never gave up. I’ve also hosted at Clubs (parties) and Megan thee Stallions concert in stl. The concert was one of my proudest moments. The best thing I’ve done for myself thus far is actually believing in myself. I recorded my first song. That was my proudest moment. Every time I write I celebrate. As far as my makeup artistry, I am a natural. I love all things natural and glowy. You get clean work for a great price and a safe place to be you. Lol I’ve even had clients fall asleep. I don’t know what it is but it works for me.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Hosting a concert and becoming an artist are top of the list. I celebrate myself often and I have so much more to accomplish. Everyday I wake up, I’m proud that I keep going. That’s the part they don’t tell you. Never stop congratulating yourself and you’ll never worry about who’s not congratulating you.
