Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Friedman.
Rachel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After selling half of my yoga studio, I was feeling a bit confused about what was next for me. After stumbling upon a Life Coaching podcast, I realized that so many of the tools life coaches used were similar to the tools we teach in yoga. I began to become curious about Life Coaching and how to incorporate it into my life. I hired a coach and began to dive deep into the work. Quickly, I realized how yoga and coaching work so well together. In a short amount of time, I was able to come up with a coaching program geared to helping individuals destress their lives using the yoga tools and coaching model. My coaching program incorporates a holistic approach to solving any problems in your life. I teach my clients how to meditate, I provide them with prescription breath work specific to their needs, and I teach them the Model created by Master Coach Brooke Castillo. The model is a simple tool to understand your own mind. This process helps to rewire the mind. To turn default thinking upside down and create a new positive way of approaching life.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any business, it involves ups and downs. I believe the key is staying with it, even when your default brain wants tries to convince you to give up. I am so grateful for the tools I have to be able to coach my mind daily, to get me in a good headspace to move forward even when it doesn’t seem like its working.
These tools help me stay calm when life throws me a curveball. Which definitely does happen.
Overall, my business has been amazing, it continues to amaze me each day as new clients come to me. I am so grateful that my business is growing constantly and that I have the ability to serve so many wonderful people.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I am a mindset coach. I rewire people’s brains. I am known for helping people overcome their stress and anxiety. Whether it be due to family, work, or starting a business. The tools I work with create more peace of mind, confidence, and an improved sense of self-worth.
I am different than most coaches as I incorporate the key elements of philosophy into my coaching practice. Meditation and breathwork are huge components along with self-inquiry.
The process requires a lot of repetition and daily work, and I am proud to be able to coach people along as they make the micro shifts that create the transformations in their lives.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
So many proud moments.
Every time a client tells me they manage a situation differently. That they are able to stay calm and not lose their cool.
Recently, one of my clients told me I was a wizard. That the tools worked. That she could see and feel a difference at home and at work. Things that she used to lose her cool over, she was able to just let go.
I love the idea that I have a magic wand. Really it’s not magic, it’s just learning to use the incredible tools we all have available to us.
