Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Renee.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Rachel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m 25 years of age (July 25th, 1993) under the sign LEO. I’m a Makeup Artist, Model & Music Blogger. I was born in Milwaukee, WI & moved to Atlanta in 2014 to pursue dreams of becoming a celebrity MUA.
I accomplished a lot along the way like doing makeup for celebrities and published TV show cast members. (MONICA, KASH DOLL, SHEREE Whitfield, etc.)
Currently working at photographer J Smith Revealed Studios (4 years). I became a first-time mother on November 24th, 2015 (SON KRUE).
Last March 2018, I took LOA form school (Beauty School) to temporarily move back home to leave my five-year relationship I was in and to be with my father Pierre (53), who was sick out of nowhere & diagnosed with colon cancer. He was given 3-6 months to live, so I put my life on pause to take care of him in his last months. August 2018, I decided it was time for me to get back to ATL. All of my money was gone and I could no longer watch my father suffer. I came back here with nowhere to live and no money but I knew the universe had great things in store for me. While my son stayed with his father most of the time, I was sleeping at a few friends house and hotels. I still had my job at J Smith Revealed so I was able to make money to support us until I got on my feet. A friend paid for an Air Bnb for me to stay in for 2 1/2 weeks to help me get on my feet. Within those two weeks, I was able to grind, work and save and I finally had enough to get me and my son our first apartment. I moved in with only a suitcase and a few important belongings and started all over.
Once I got settled into my place in Atlanta, I decided I wanted to do more than just makeup. I wanted to make a better life for my son, and follow ALL of my dreams. I decided to pursue modeling part-time and have been building on my portfolio with different photographers, as well as working in bridal and fashion shows.
Lastly, on July 31st, I finally launched my INSTAGRAM music blog @_WireTapped. Music is something that I love more than the average person and I have always wanted to be in the music industry. My dad was a local producer and didn’t make it far with his career, so he has inspired me to follow this dream of OURS.
The main goal of my blog is to promote and interview Hip Hop and R&B artist (focusing more on the upcoming and the undiscovered). I work on Wiretapped full time, and it is very sentimental to me because of the passing of my father.
Please tell us about Makeup By Gee & WireTapped.
Wiretapped is my new INSTAGRAM music blog.
I specialize in promoting up & coming/undiscovered Hip Hop & R&B artist.
I post artists music, visuals and interviews I will be conducting with them.
I am most proud of myself for actually finally starting the company because I have always been hesitant.
What sets Wiretapped apart from other music blogs is one me being a woman doing a music blog solo, and two. My unique content and the overall look of the INSTAGRAM page.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One favorite memory from my childhood is growing up around my father producing music and having a studio in our house. He would have an artist come in and record, and have music discussions on who was the greatest rapper alive. I use to always sit around with the adults and listen in on their conversations.
