Today we’d like to introduce you to Radazaih Whittington.
Radazaih, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started off at Savannah College of Art and Design. I realized that I was creating all of these productions, but there were so many missing pieces. There was a lack of business or brand behind the content, no real aim or claim that everything made was mine. I enjoy doing the hard stuff and I had the passion for getting it done quickly.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been smooth. Everything from starting the LLC to funding and finding the actual studio, furnishing it, and building a space to represent new and established creatives to help them break new ground was a challenge. Working with artistic people can become difficult when everyone wants their name at the front of the project. We all have a role to play and unless you’ve paid for everything, it’s hard to be at the top.
Royal Horizon Productions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Royal Talent Studios supports new and established actors and filmmakers with multimedia production and preparation. We provide actors audition training, develop headshots, self-tapes, voiceovers, and find casting calls. Filmmakers can find support with their projects through video and film production, photography, entertainment law, social media, graphic design, and event planning.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Well, of course, my friends, Bernard, Demetrius, Nzinja; I couldn’t name them all. My mom and my grandmother for helping me edit scripts and other legal parts of the business. SCAD Creative taught me so much and provided lots of equipment and information for shoots. Some people even helped for free, but I’m glad I could provide the experience to add to their resume.
