Today we’d like to introduce you to Randall Porter.
Randall, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
With a love for branding and for the creative industries, the past few years have allowed me to create a diverse resume filled with experiences in fashion, retail, and social media. Along the way, I have filled a toolbox of invaluable interpersonal skills, knowledge of marketing and public relations, and has been honored with opportunities to develop social content and strategies, marketing plans and photoshoots to scale brands such as Aviate and Good Grit Magazine; brands that challenged me to improve each day and allowed constant, innovative thinking as a way of life. “His ambitious personality, combined with a flair for the social scene has made him one of Birmingham’s most beloved and is exactly why he sits on the board of Young Professionals of Birmingham!”
Has it been a smooth road?
As a gay black man in the south, I understand what it is like to feel excluded or on the outside of what is considered “the norm.” However, I decided to use those things that were considered not the norm to my advantage to build my brand.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Stylishly Social – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
“When Randall enter a room, people notice, and not just because as a tastemaker is one of the most fashionable men in Birmingham.” I have quickly and quietly become one of the most sought-after branding and public relations consultants in the south. From retail and apparel to the hospitality industry, I am changing the way people want to dress, drink, and shop. Fashion was just something I’ve always done. I worked in retail for years working brands like J.CREW to American Eagle and I hosted and produced fashion shows in college at [The University of] Montevallo,” where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communications and communications studies with a minor in public relations.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Becoming an influencer was a happenstance of living my everyday life, having a genuine love and connection to Birmingham al to ATL, and wanting to promote the south.
