Raphael Tilley is a hard-working husband, father, and engineer who simply had a dream to create a brand of custom suiting, shoes, and accessories for men of all ages. Raphael set out on a mission to curate more than just another clothing line, he wanted to create a lifestyle brand… an experience. He believes everyone should feel confident and successful before leaving home every day. Thus, Motif Stylez was founded on the belief that a custom-tailored wardrobe or exclusive concierge services should be available to everyone; no matter what their occupation.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, to say the least. Since, being a business owner, I quickly learned that I must protect my dreams and ideas, move in silence, and have a reliable team.

Raphael’s educational and professional training centers on engineering, but his passion lies in creating elegant, sophisticated suiting for the well-dressed gentleman. He is one of the rare people who can actually craft and design custom men’s suiting. His creativity allows him to visualize every detail of the attire. His analytical training assures him of accurate measurements, that result in the perfect suit designed specifically for each individual client. By taking this made-to-measure experience directly to the consumer; Raphael created a superior alternative to off-the-rack clothing while preserving two of his clients’ most valuable resources… time and comfort.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory consists of my love for sports. I enjoyed playing football and basketball all throughout my childhood and teenage years.
