Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhesa Teesdale.
Rhesa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started this idea of this brand in January 2019 with a close friend of mine, Jorge Peña. We both knew that we wanted to start a business before we left high school but we didn’t know what we wanted to focus on. I brought up the idea that I want to create a clothing brand with a message that is unique and then came the idea of Prophet | Envoy. It took us nine months to officially launch our first clothing drop but it all paid off because we want to focus on the message more than anything.
The name Prophet | Envoy actually means “God’s children sending a message,” and we aim to spread the message of peace, inspiration, and motivation to all people through the depiction of motivational quotes and Bible scriptures on urban-style clothing. The brand has now been operating for a year now and it has positively impacted a large variety of individuals from places all around the world such as the US, Canada, Asia, Africa, and Europe as well as collaborating with renowned influencers such as Dre Goldi (YouTube personality) and Zion Harmon (ESPN top 100 high school basketball prospect)!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a very bumpy road to say the least. At first, most people were not aware of the message of the brand, so they weren’t engaged with the brand as much. Once I officially released the message behind the brand, the outpouring of individuals from all over DMing me about how they love and support the message behind the brand is what really jumpstarts the success of the business. There were times where we would sell out in our products in a matter of hours and other times where our inventory would not move for weeks at a time. The drought periods allowed me to reflect on how to move forward with the brand more effectively and I’ve honestly been able to bounce back with very productive results!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Prophet | Envoy story. Tell us more about the business.
The purpose of the brain is to ultimately spread positive messages through urban clothing. There’s actually a study that scientifically proves that the clothes that young adults and teenagers where are an ultimate reflection of the vibe/aura that they want to get off. We strive to give off a positive aura when a customer is wearing our clothing in public. We knew that getting into the clothing brand business will require facing a lot of competition with brands who have similar messages, so that’s why we aim to spread positivity and inspiration and motivation over everything else.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
To be completely honest, I don’t really believe in luck but I believe in things happening at the right time, to the right people, in the right setting. I was put in a position to spearhead a clothing brand that spreads positivity through urban style clothing and I am going to do the best I can to make this a global clothing brand so that I could spread positivity to people all around the globe. That’s really all I can ever ask for.
