Meet Rick Adams of The Oak Grove Market

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rick Adams.

Eight years ago, Rick and partners purchased the already existing Oak Grove Market with the intent to continue serving the Oak Grove community through food and fellowship. Not much has changed aside from some delicious additions to the lunch specials and dinners to go. From the beginning, Oak Grove Market aka “OGM” has been a neighborhood anchor and meeting place. The big red couch is the cornerstone of the community – where conversations take place over coffee and scones in the morning hours.

In the afternoons, kids bustle into the doors to fill their bellies with after school snacks. In the evenings, you can find neighbors concentrating on their dinner preparations or better yet, picking up a dinner to go! OGM continues to thrive because of the dedicated staff who love the community and customers who are known by name and greeted with a smile everyday. OGM focuses on togetherness and community with convenient, delicious home-cooked food as the glue that hold it all together.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a smooth road because of the neighbors who support us and let us know how we can serve them better.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Oak Grove Market – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
OGM is a butcher shop and small grocery store. We carry essentials and grocery items that complement our prepared foods. We want our neighbors to be able to put together a delicious meal from our store. In addition, we serve lunch daily – best known for “Steak Day” on Thursdays (Steak of your choice, grilled to perfection served with baked potato and salad for $10.99). Another popular special is OGM Chicken Nachos on Saturdays. $7.99 gets you a heaping plate full of fresh made corn tortilla chips topped with OGM Cheese Dip and Seasoned Shredded Chicken. We also make “Dinners to go” Monday through Thursday evenings, which are very popular and super convenient. We have an online ordering system in which customers must order by 2pm. Dinners are typically a main dish and 2 side items that serve either 4 people or 2 people and can be picked up between 5pm and 7pm. This is very popular for busy parents and working people who don’t have time to cook, but want to eat healthy homemade dinners.

We are most proud of our connection to the community. We aim to be the go-to for lunch-goers in the Oak Grove area, as well as the neighborhood butcher shop and grocery store.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Owners of the Oak Grove Market are home grown in Atlanta and loyal to this great city.

While the Oak Grove Market is the heart of the smaller Oak Grove community, we love the proximity to all of the “big city” things that Atlanta has to offer.
