Today we’d like to introduce you to Roger Koo.
Roger, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I had two passions in life, martial arts and computers. After college, I was in the corporate world as an Accounts Manager for an air freight company near Heathrow International Airport, London, England. I was a part-time Tae Kwon Do Instructor from 1977 until 1982 leaving the corporate world to become the first full time Tae Kwon Do Instructor in the U.K. applying all my skills from the corporate world to become the most successful Instructor in the UK with 500 active members.
I was fascinated when the first consumer computer became available in the 1970’s and bought one for use in my Tae Kwon Do business. I was the first Martial Art Instructor in the UK to fully be fully computerized from database, accounting and so forth. I developed the first Tae Kwon Do computerized Tae Kwon Do Tournament in the UK in 1987.
My son, Gregory started a computer repair business while he was in high school and went to GA Tech to study Electrical Engineering. As he wanted to focus on his college, he asked me to take over his business which grew substantially over the years.
November 2006 after 42 years in the Martial Arts Industry, I decided to retire from my Martial Art business to focus on my computer repair business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My journey in the Computer Repair, Web Design & Search Engine Optimization has been a smooth ride. I am constantly learning as the IT environment constantly change on a daily basis. The vast majority (99%) of my repair business are Windows Operating System and (1%) are Apple.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

What set me apart from others is that I educate my clients after I have repaired their systems!
What were you like growing up?
I was born on the Island of Mauritius and was sent to be educated and settle in London, England since the age of 8 away from my parents. My hobby is playing chess. My Martial Arts business brought me to Atlanta, GA in 1991. February 1992, I created my own Martial System “Koo Self Defense” and retired from it November 2006 to focus on my computer business. July 1994, I was granted Permanent Residence through the category under U.S. Immigration Law known as “Alien of Extraordinary Ability” and eventually all my family and I became US Citizen. I love everything with regards to technology.
