Today we’d like to introduce you to Sana Muazzam.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Being raised in physician’s family, and seeing dermatologist working on corrective and beatifying procedures always fascinated me. Although not a physician myself, Esthetician is in a unique position to provide quality skincare services to clients, the passion I always have.
Entrepreneurship is demanding but gives flexibility with time and work schedule, something that is important for me to keep a balance between family and professional life. It took a lot of encouragement and time before I finally decide to open my own Spa. With initial guidance from my friends, positive feedback from clients, and continuous support of my husband, in a short span, I was able to deliver quality skincare services and maintain regular flow of clients. Offering corrective procedures of conditions like acne using high frequency and LED (Light Therapy) machines, and doing anti-aging facials give me a sense of gratitude that I am serving my community, and most importantly humanity.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a new business was not an easy path for me, selecting a place for my Spa within confined budget, purchasing minimum number of machines to offer adequate skincare services for clients, and choosing a skincare product line that could serve my clients well was something that kept me awake searching on internet for many nights while others sleep. Utilizing the advantage of “flexibility” of an entrepreneur, I kept the evening hours of my Spa at the beginning to avoid any disruption of family life, and slowly moving to morning hours as my son started his school. Expensive advertisement including the website development are tools that everyone needs to promote a business in this era of technology, however use of social media and discounted services currently available on the internet kept me confined within desired budget.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Walismu Health Spa – what should we know?
