Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott A. and Shaté L. Hayes.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Scott and Shaté. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We met online in January 2018, but we were both a little skeptical about the idea of online dating. We had our first date on Valentine’s Day, and even though there was a connection, we let fear and past experiences keep us from moving forward. So, we were stuck for a bit early on.
Once we started opening up about our journeys, we realized how much we both valued healing and were intentional about putting it into practice in our daily lives. That really allowed us to get out of our own way, to have faith, and to trust the process in our relationship. From that point on, we’ve been in constant conversation about generational cycles as well as mental, emotional, and spiritual heath. We’re both writers and share our thoughts on these topics on various mediums. The Love Haze Podcast is our way of bringing those conversations to our community in hopes of it helping them to choose healing in every area of their lives.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As we say on our podcast, in life, there will always be a haze – a hardship to overcome before getting to the thing you truly desire. But we also know that those difficulties are usually catalysts for growth in some way.
Some of the challenges we’ve faced in our relationship have been letting go of old wounds and limiting beliefs. Some of the challenges we’ve faced in launching our podcast have been fear of failure and judgment. Fortunately, we’ve pushed past the challenges in both of those areas and have been so much better for it.
Please tell us about The Love Haze Podcast.
The Love Haze Podcast is meant to empower our community to rethink the way they love their life. It’s a look at how to approach healing and wholeness in a practical way.
What sets us apart from other podcasts, especially ones that feature husband-wife duos, is that our conversations aren’t centered only around romantic love or marital issues. We’re a married couple who talks about mindset, spiritual health, and how to choose to live the best version of your life.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If we had to start over, we’d invest in different equipment, like specific mics, early on. The audio quality is clear with what we’ve used so far, but we’ve learned more about the tools available to podcasters. We’ve been intentional about the topics we’ve chosen and how we’ve structured them, but we’d love to enhance it even more. Overall, we’re pleased with the journey we’re on, but there’s always room to grow.
