Meet Selena Freeman of GirlWithNikon in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Selena Freeman.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Selena. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been artistic since a very young age. I used to create dollhouse furniture out of index paper. I was into painting, pottery and many other forms of art. I took a photography class my senior year of High school. The class was fairly new. Once I graduated, I got more into it and decided to self teach myself more skills. My Nikon was a gift and thus, GirlWithNikon came about.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a bumpy road. I always tried to make the most out of what I have. I was thankful enough to have been gifted with the supplies I have now. I’m currently still working a full-time job and working around two off days a week. I always feel like I’m on crunch time. I can have up to three shoots in one day If everything goes accordingly. I can’t let my lack of free time stop me from achieving my goals.

Please tell us about GirlWithNikon.
GirlWithNikon came about the summer of 2015 and started out solely doing street photography. Currently, I am a portrait photographer and I specialize in concept photography. Every photo tells a story and thats what I try to get people to understand. I am known for my creative eye when it comes to my choice of locations, point of perspective, creative directing and styling. I am most proud of creating my own lane. I don’t see many photographers doing what I do. Having to rely solely on myself has allowed me to rely on my beliefs and self-confidence.

Pricing:

• First Timers Special: Freelance only 1 location and 1 outfit change for $90.00 flat with a $50.00 deposit fee required
• Studio Special: @GenesisAtlanta studio for 1 hour and up to two outfit changes for $110.00 flat with a $50.00 deposit fee required
• All bookings require a non refundable deposit fee plus a 3 week notice to book.
