Today we’d like to introduce you to Seretha Willingham.

Hi Seretha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Seretha Willingham, I am the Founder and CEO of SJW Logistics, a Third-Party Logistics company providing freight transportation, warehousing and e-Commerce order fulfillment services. I hold a Bachelors Of Science Degree in Finance and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. I am also a Certified Scrum Master and Project Management Professional.

My previous corporate career spans from financial data analysis to project management of information technology systems along with strategic planning and execution. This experience allowed me to take on Entrepreneurship in a fast-growing Logistics and Transportation Industry.

In 2020, when Covid-19 disrupted economy, I was granted the opportunity to become a full-time entrepreneur. I acquired a small trucking fleet of 5 trucks and grew the company to 12 trucks within the first six months of leadership. In 2021, I opened a 22,000 square foot warehouse making SJW Logistics a full-service 3PL with multiple service offerings for our clients.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. There has been several challenges economically, physically and mentally. The largest challenge has been seeking funding to scale as small business in logistiscs and transportation. I have been declined by many banks and lenders because they consider the transportation industry a risk. These obstacles force me to be very strategic in the company’s growth and budgeting.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about SJW Logistics?
We are a 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) company that provides freight transportation for shippers and receivers, e-commerce order fulfillment, warehousing and pallet storage services. Our 3PL services make it easier than ever for businesses to expand into emerging markets and new areas, including emerging countries. No other company offers affordable warehousing and e-fulfillment for small to medium businesses at a reasonable price. What makes us even more unique is we also have internal fleet services with cameras and GPS tracking to cover any company transportation needs as well…

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is that I am using my skills to help others see a difference in their businesses and day to day operations. That is very important to me because I know many businesses and entreprenuers create a product that sells very well but don’t consider logistics, transportation and shipping into their costs when expanding into retail markets. My company is able to come and give them a sigh of financial relief so they can still see a profit as they go from online B2C sales to retail markets.

I am also a proud a graduate of Georgia’s SBA 2021 Emerging Leader Class. To be recognized as a leader of a small business with potential to grow and create jobs in the community while helping other businesses grow makes me extremely happy.
