Meet Sharon Brewton of Credit Chick Sharon in Riverdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Brewton.

Sharon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As early as high school, I was able to understand credit and how important is was. With that knowledge, I was able to purchase my first home at 21. Pursuing my Computer Science degree in college, I was in a situation where I maxed out my financial aid and had to resort to charging my tuition on my credit cards. As a result, I ended up in an unfavorable credit situation. A few years ago, I had difficulties utilizing my credit due to the derogatory marks that hindered me. When I transitioned into the finance field, I was exposed to more credit resources that helped me manage and repair my credit. I researched and learned how to remove the derogatory marks off of my credit report. I attempted to use the method that I learned about and after a few disputes, I was successful at removing the derogatory marks off of my credit report. It was such a wonderful feeling to see my score increase so much. In my field, I saw so many people getting denied for credit and I wanted to help. So, I began offering free services to my friends and family to test out my methods. Then I decided to offer credit repair services to help people with credit challenges and provide credit education as well. If I could help myself increase my purchasing power, I could help others.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I was well aware of my knowledge and the helpful resources. However, my biggest obstacle was fear. In particular, it was the fear of disappointing my clients. Now, I have several satisfied clients.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I specialize in credit repair and credit education. I have proven results of removing all negative information that appears on my clients’ credit report. I also provide credit education to where my clients will not end up in their previous situation. My biggest accomplishment was overcoming fear of starting a business and not being successful. What sets me apart is that I keep in contact with all of my clients well after their services have ended. I have always and will be a resource for my clients.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very shy. I was always interested in economics to learn how money works and making my money work for me.
