Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaun Mosley.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Shaun. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I launched my event planning company after planning a personal event of my own and having a bad experience. In fact, the person I hired to help me plan my event actually quit on my event day. Once this happened to me, I was left with no choice but to execute my own celebration. It was hard and overwhelming trying to be the planner and the host but working through all the logistics and developing solutions is what I enjoyed about the process so much. From there, I knew there was a better way to plan and execute a person’s special day and that is how my company was born in 2011.
In the early days, I had so much to learn such as how to acquire a business license, how to classify my business, how to navigate taxes and how to set boundaries. It was a lot and I felt as though I was an island trying to navigate the process alone but I wanted it so bad that I jumped through all the hurdles and challenges. It was also very challenging trying to connect with other people in the industry. I was a newbie and no one in 2011 wanted to give me the time of day to share their experiences, or connect me to other people in the industry so I decided to create my own networking platforms and create and host my own social and marketing events to create a platform to put my company out there. This allowed me to connect with other business owners that also desired to connect with others to help their business thrive. Today in my industry, we are known for being the connectors and industry leader in connecting not only couples to the resources they need but also other business owners.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t all been smooth. Making industry friends in the early days was not always easy. People didn’t want to share their knowledge of the way people so openly do today. So it was learning a lot by trial and error.
Cue The Champagne Event Planning and Design – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We work with brides and mothers of the brides who live busy lives. They are working professionals, graduate students who are at the top of their game when it comes to building a career and foundation for a successful life so they can live a life they love.
We are known for putting people first. That is what really sets us apart from others. We value people so we approach how we work with our couples from a place of integrity, character values and old school morals. We care not only about our couples but we care about their parents, their best friends and every single person that will walk into their event. We care about what keeps our couples up at night, what they stress about because that is what we want to step in and remove off their plate. We don’t come with a smoking glass mirror, we are who we are, friendly, personable, kind, warm and candid, our role is to point out the pros and cons and keep it real. We are that trusted friend that is well connected and resourceful who has our client’s best interests first, always!
We offer wedding coordination, partial planning, full planning, virtual planning, wedding and event design and event production services as well as floral design services for the woman that loves flowers and gravitates towards classic, romantic yet timeless design styles.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
We are a six times award-winning planning company, we have been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, we have planned celebrity weddings and have had local magazine features but the most proudest moment is being recognized as an industry leader by our own local peers. That means a lot that our peers can come to us and have mutual respect and well wishes for us.
Pricing:
- On average our couples invest between $40,000- 75, 000 and allocate around 10-15 percent of their budget in their investment for planning services.
