Meet Shay “Your Love Diva” Levister

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shay “Your Love Diva” Levister.

Shay found herself pulled into the industry of helping others find love when she found herself a single mother of a five-week old daughter after leaving an abusive relationship. She’d grown up in a home where she witnessed her father abuse her mother on a regular basis and saw dysfunctional relationships all around her. This inspired Shay to make a promise to her daughter to do whatever it took to break the cycle of dysfunctional relationships within her family. This lead her to pay a dating coach over $10,000 to help her understand how to attract love. She also did a year of counseling and, most importantly, launched an experiment of going on over 100 dates within three months, interviewing over 4000 men, women, and couples, and immersing herself into learning about human behavior and relationships by reading and studying hundreds of relationships, psychology and human behavior books.

This lead to her doing YouTube videos to document her learning journey and dating experiences. All of her research paid off. Shay finally cracked the code and mastered the science of attracting any man she wanted within 30 days. She even had the men who fell for her within only 30 days coming before the camera to tell listeners why they fell so hard for Shay. This inspired people from all over to start asking Shay for advice. To further her education and help other end loneliness and attract love, Shay took a certification course that would help her coach and help others before “coaching” became so popular.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey to where I am today did not come easily. I have almost died five times. I’ve been shot in the chest in a drive-by shooting while visiting family in Atlanta when I lived in a suburban neighborhood in Florida. I was in a car accident where the driver fell asleep and we flew off the highway into a wooded embankment. I had a heart attack at 30 and died after giving birth to my youngest child but all of that did not compare to how close I came to dying mentally and emotionally when I walked away from my ministry of helping women attract love after I unknowingly married a married man (accidentally) at the height of my career and was bullied and stalked by his wife and her friend, all while being abused by him.

Yes, you read that right. No, I was not in a Lifetime movie. I married a married man who lied and told me that he was divorced. However, legally, he was not. I was at a low point in my life and wanted to die. I walked away from love coaching for a while because I didn’t think I was worthy. One day God told me that it wasn’t me but God through me that would heal and help women. God told me that I was given this gift for a reason and it was time to start using it. I had to start all over. I had over four million views on my YouTube channel and many videos that went viral but this was no longer easy to do years later. I had to start back at zero on every platform. The industry that I came back to was saturated with a lot of untrained “experts” giving bad advice based on their beliefs or personal experiences but that contradicts science. It was a challenge trying to get my following back and retrain their thinking so that dating works for them. Several big-name influencers started to get on board and my clients started giving testimonials on how I helped them transform their lives. I am blessed to be living my purpose to inspire professional singles to end loneliness using the science of attraction.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory was the day I met the love of my life. I met Carlin when I was 14 years old while in high school. We were both in the band but went to different schools and were introduced by a friend of ours. I remember everything as if it were yesterday. I remember the way my heart jumped when he looked at me. We were young and free and would hang out for hours, several times a week. He was there for me whenever I needed him. He was my favorite person on earth.

One of our favorite things to do was to watch The Lion King. I remember he would joke around and say, “What if we ended up like Nayla and Simba?” He was talking about how they separated and they came back together, ultimately having a young prince. My best friend and childhood sweetheart and I broke up before college but stayed in touch as he went off to the Airforce. We wrote to each other all the time; however, once I graduated and left school, we lost contact for ten years. We reunited serendipitously one day and the rest is history. We married in 2014 and had a son together. He is an amazing dad to all four of our children and I am so thankful that he waited for me to realize he was “the one.”
