Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherell Campbell-Daniels.
Sherell, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When we first opened The Red Door, we were already doing weddings with our other company, The Head Table. I had been looking for a space to meet clients and have small events. The owner of the building gave me a call and said the space was available. Myself along with my catering partner, Cynthia Coggins sat down and agreed to make this giant leap. We started out slow and at times wondered if we had made the right decision. After getting the word out more and more we are now booking events on a regular basis.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Some of the struggles we faced included getting our name out there. With little marketing experience and finances, we had to be creative. Getting active on social media sites was very instrumental in our momentum. Hiring millennial’s was the best decision we made. Their energy and tech knowledge were imperative in our growth.
Please tell us about The Red Door.
The Red Door is a great space for your event. We specialize in baby showers and bridal showers. We are an intimate space and we like to say that we are where you come when you don’t want to have the worry of having a private event in your home. I am most proud of the progress we have made and where I see the company going in the future. What sets us apart is our customer service and attention to detail with every client.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have hired staff early on to concentrate on building the business vs working it.
