Today we’d like to introduce you to Shivani Bhatia.
Shivani, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a pediatric anesthesiologist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Four years ago I decided to open a blow dry bar, which morphed into a medical spa / blow dry bar / makeup concept. I wanted to open a place where women could come and be their best selves; not transformed, but valued for who they are.
I obtained training to inject botox, Juvederm, Voluma, Kybella, and Volbella. My patient base has grown entirely by word of mouth. I love helping women feel good about themselves. We are all unique and should be cherished for that. Doing injectables with a more natural approach is what I have become known for. I love caring for my patients and have become friends with many of them over the years.
Has it been a smooth road?
The biggest struggles have been related to balancing my time between my full-time job at the hospital, my beauty bar, and other companies I have started. There are only so many hours in a day; I think adding two additional hours might help, but even then I’m not certain.
As an entrepreneur, there is so much one learns from experience. I have faced countless struggles, but have viewed each as a learning opportunity.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the b. YOU beauty bar story. Tell us more about the business.
b. YOU beauty is a beauty bar; we specialize in blowouts and makeup application. We are physician-owned and offer physician-administered injectables, including botox, juvederm, kybella, and voluma. We are just about to open a small clothing boutique inside of our store.
As a company, we are most proud of the quality we offer. From blowouts to skincare to injectables, we pride ourselves on quality.
We are different from other beauty bars because of the large selection of skincare, the medical services offered, and the boutique.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Sandy Springs is growing very quickly., We anticipate being able to keep up with the growth, and possibly expanding into additional locations.
