Today we’d like to introduce you to Simone Little.
Simone, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I always knew I needed to work for myself. From the time I got into the workforce, I noticed that I didn’t like not being in a place of authority. I enjoy creating my own rules and doing things the way I see fit. I got my certifications as a Legal Assistant as well as a Paralegal and I worked in the field for about six months before I knew it was time to get out. I remember calling my husband from the desk of the law firm that I worked at and said, “I need to start a side hustle!”, and that’s exactly what I did.
A month later, I quit that job and began a mobile hair salon. I had always had a thing for styling hair so it was time to give it a go. Fast forward almost ten years and my salon has a physical location with other stylists. The best part is, I’m no longer responsible for running any part of the salon.
In 2017 I became pregnant with my second child. At that time, I was still behind the chair. I physically could not stand on my feet for more than an hour at a time. After about the 4-month mark of my pregnancy, I had to figure out how to make money, and quickly! After having this realization, I vividly remember having a conversation with one of my stylists…it literally was the answer to my prayers and changed the path of my career. She told me, I do all the administrative work for the salon that no one ever wants to do, Why don’t I just do that for other stylists?
Ding, ding, ding. There it was. That was the moment my Virtual Assistant company, “The Little Virtual Assistant,” was born. Through that company, I have had the opportunity to work with over 60 different businesses in over 12 different industries, many of which have deep roots in Atlanta. Throughout my journey as a Virtual Assistant, I quickly became the Business Manager to some of the companies I assisted. I even grew to become the Operations Manager and Brand Manager of a few. I came to realize that I wasn’t tapping into the potential that I had to help businesses in their totality.
About three months ago, I decided to change all of that. I fired all my clients and rebranded myself as a Business Productivity Coach and Strategist. It’s been amazing! I’m getting the opportunity to make changes in the lives of high power CEOs by restructuring the backend of their business, giving them a firm foundation to grow!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Finding my footing has not always been smooth. The transition from behind the chair to behind the computer was rough. It was hard to find clients at first. I was living the “Shoot my Shot” life. I went through a ton of misses. I remember a time I had a very demanding client. I did so much for his company. He had me playing every role from an accountant to HR to research and development. It was crazy. The last words he said to me was “The way I worked would be the death of me.” He meant the “mistakes” I made, would not get me anywhere. That was tough to hear, especially since I gave it everything I had and then some.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I specialize in developing actionable and tailored structure plans, that will allow CEOs to achieve their revenue goals and organize their business, while still having time to enjoy their life without feeling burnt out and guilty. My favorite service that I provide is my Productivity Power Hour! I’ve seen it change lives. In the one-hour conversation, I create a schedule for my clients in real-time taking account of their energy and unique circumstances. It’s my most popular service. There are many Productivity Coaches and Stratratgist on the scene. Not many have the type of experience with businesses that I do. I do more than tell you how to manage time.
I teach my clients how to audit their entire business. By finding the gaps, we can quickly find options to fill them. I then align the right solution by what fits my client’s energy, resources, and time. My CEOs don’t have time to make bad decisions. They don’t have time to ponder over decisions forever. I get rid of all of that. I teach them how to become productive decision-makers and how to effectively execute those decisions.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I don’t have any favorite childhood memories. I do remember feeling most at peace when I was writing poetry or reading. It was at an early age that I learned I needed to do things that feed my soul.
