Today we’d like to introduce you to SLiC CheauxLove.
SLiC, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Seattle, Washington, but at the age of three, I moved to East Atlanta, Ga. I am a Hip-Hop artist with an R&B soul. Growing up with a father that was a part of a music group gave me my first view of life in entertainment. The love for music started early with listening to Usher, Nelly, Ludacris, and the most influential of them all, T.I. In high school, I had the opportunity to record music with a group of friends at a classmates house. It became a past time I could not deny which fueled a MySpace music page with my life long friend Devo. Although one day our classmate moved away and we no longer went to the studio, the love for music never went away. Years later while in the National Guard, I approached another soldier who also goes by NoFraudRich, asking him how I can get in the music game and be taken seriously. He told me that consistency would be key, I started Teaching myself the recording process. Years later, now, I’m on my fourth mixtape, “My Time Coming.”
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been an easy road. Some of the biggest struggles are having to live a normal life but still keep striving for this goal that some would call a fantasy.
Please tell us more about your music, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a Hip hop Artist with an R&B Upbringing. Some of my most notable songs to date are; Run It Up, On Fire, and a nice amount of songs off my new project, “My Time Coming.” My uniqueness comes from a genuine place because I cannot make a song if I can’t relate to it somehow.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
So far, I’m most proud of making “Dem 404 Boyz” of Streetz 94.5 a theme song for their nightly show and seeing the reaction from people I know around Atlanta when they hear it.
