Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Brown.
Hi Stacey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always enjoyed being artistic. When I was a child, I always painted or sketched to pass the time. When I thought about what I wanted to do as a career, I wanted to do something that I would be able to express my artistic side without having to be a starving artist. In high school, I decided to take a drafting class. The first year was Mechanical drafting, not that fun drawing nuts and bolts and how they come together, but the next year was focused on Architectural Drafting, and we got to design our dream home. This is when I realized I wanted to be an Architect.
And that’s what I did. I went to school to get my Master’s degree in Architecture and then on to work at some of the top firms in Atlanta, having the opportunity to work on international and domestic projects (Convention Centers, Hotels, Luxury Residential, and Co-working spaces). After a few years of working in Architecture, I decided to get experience working in Interior design, so now I currently work full-time on Luxury Hospitality projects.
During Covid, our work hours were cut, so I found myself with more time on my hands, and my sister asked me for help with the Graphic Design work she needed. I have always had to do graphics for work doing presentations, designing custom artwork, carpet patterns, etc., so it came easily to me. She loved what I came up with for her, and I enjoyed helping bring her vision to life, so that’s when I decided to make a business out of it and help others, and that’s how I got to where I am today. Helping small businesses, designing their logos, business cards, social media content, and branding materials.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At first, it was smooth sailing with a steady flow of business and referrals, and I was able to balance my full-time job and my business. Now it’s a bit challenging to work full time and have time for my business. Not to mention having to learn about all the things that go into running a business. Trying to figure out what works for you, how to continue bringing business in, staying current on social media…it has all been a learning curve and is a work in progress.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Stans Design?

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see the industry increasing within the next few years. People are starting to want to work for themselves more and more each day. With this change, they will have branding needs and that is where I come in.
