Meet Stephani Lofthouse

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephani Lofthouse.

Stephani, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been doing photography for as long as I can remember. 2004 is when I started trying taking it seriously. I started out trying my hand at automotive and portraiture photography. The obsession with automotive photography began due to having a Ford Mustang Cobra that was painted “Chromalusion” The hardest color (in my experience) to capture on film as it has more colors than Mystichrome which was released for the 04 Ford Mustang Cobra. Fast forward 17 years later, I have traveled nationwide for photography work for automotive events and solo shoots, family, boudoir, models, concerts, celebrities, and weddings. Not only that but have been internationally published and now write and direct my own independent horror films. It took many years to get full-time in this field but I continue to push through. 2022 will be a big year for traveling. I’ll be going to Massachusetts, Florida, Texas, and California to work with multiple people in the automotive community, concerts, and more. 2022 is going to a “Go Big or Go Home” year for me and introducing new things, my models for the car community, and merch. Grateful and Blessed for this life I’ve worked hard for.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I believe in every career, there’s always a struggle. Competition has been one for me. In the field of art – there should not be any competition. I’ve been publicly bashed by other photographers on social media for years. During some dark times in my life- that made it worse and made me question myself on a personal level. Not feeling good enough to even create something that I love. Everything happens for a reason so it’s made my skin a little thicker today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a published photographer. I specialize in automotive, concerts, and boudoir. I’m proud of all the magazine publications (USA and UK) I’m also grateful for all my clients and celebrities who have allowed me to work with them over the years. I feel my automotive work sets me apart from the rest out there. There’s a ton of artists I look up to and would love to collab with. My dark imagery especially in horror boudoir tends to get me in trouble with social media and locals as it can be seen as disturbing to some old school followers.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I’ve had many friends and family members support me during this ride and I’m forever thankful for them all. I am thankful for the negative ones too. As they have shown their true colors, they don’t realize they have caused me to push and work harder to show them I won’t back down, I won’t give up and I will work to do what makes me happy because at the end of the day, you need to be you and do what’s best for you.
