Meet Summer Bell of Summer D. Beauty in Metropolitan Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Summer Bell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Summer. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am also known as Summer D Beauty and I have been an Atlanta-based freelance makeup artist and beauty YouTuber since 2014 and student at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. I have always had a passion to create and as I grew older, that passion turned towards the art of makeup. From an everyday task to a talented lifestyle – I fell in love. When I do clients, my main goal is to have them see themselves as how they were created: beautiful and in His image. I have an undeniable passion and vision to develop my brand into a unique beauty service that tailors to clients from all walks of life!

Has it been a smooth road?
Because of the makeup/beauty industry being so saturated, one of the greatest challenges is standing out. Without the proper equipment, connections, and resources it can be very difficult for one to stand out from every other artist. Another obstacle is deciphering which artists are doing makeup for the social status or because of it being something they are actually passionate about. It can be really annoying when a lot of people get into makeup just for brands to reach out to them and send them product.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Summer D. Beauty story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a freelance makeup artist (specializing in bridal, special effects and stage makeup application), beauty influencer, beauty YouTuber and brand ambassador!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
As my career progresses, I hope to have launched, manufactured and distributed my own line of affordable cosmetics for all skin tones, skin types and genders! Then, eventually opening my own chain of beauty salons that carry my products. Everything the cosmetics industry is missing, I want to create with my own personal touch.
