Today we’d like to introduce you to Sylvia Green.
Sylvia, before we jump into specific questions about the company, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I moved GA from Detroit in 2007 to pursue music. I’ve had a passion for music from a very early age. From singing in the choir to playing the saxophone (put that down years ago). I started writing poetry at 13 and rapping at about 18yrs old. Growing up I always knew that my purpose was to help people and music would have a huge part to do with it. Once I got settled in here in GA, I realized jumping into the music scene wasn’t easy in a whole different state especially not knowing anyone. I spent quite a few years of networking and adjusting to the new city. On Blast Radio had been a long time dream of mine. I didn’t just want a show I wanted a platform where I could help other people who also wanted a radio show/podcast. January 28th of 2020 was the official launch of On Blast Radio with my show “The Truth Session” which is me and my co-host Lacie Doll speaking on a vast range of subjects and keeping all the way real. The main goal of On Blast Radio is to create a platform for independent artists and small business owners to showcase their brands at an affordable cost. My main goal in life is to have a positive impact on the world and to invoke change. It starts with us.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
At times we wish it could be easy but the truth is, without the struggles, we wouldn’t appreciate it as much. It took me almost ten years to do something I knew I was capable of doing plenty of years before that. While there, of course, were a number of ups and downs, what I’ve now realized is I was my biggest hindrance. Allowing others to make me feel it was not the right time or that I couldn’t do it alone. It held up up a lot of progress.
Tell us about your company. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
Well, I consider myself a young mogul! While On Blast Radio Atlanta is currently at the forefront of my projects, ON Blast, LLC is the parent company of On Blast Radio, On Blast Media, On Blast Magazine, and ON Blast Small Business Consulting. Most who know me know me as an ideas person and someone who loves to help and support others with their business aspirations. What sets me and my businesses apart from others like it is my genuine passion and enthusiasm for helping others, especially the underdog. At this stage of the game I just want to be what I needed when I was really trying to do the music artist thing. A lot of people are chasing the money. I just wanna do what I love and make a difference if not in the world definitely in a lot of people’s lives.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is living your dreams, doing it your way, while learning the lessons and making a living!
