Today we’d like to introduce you to Tameka Jones.

Tameka, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Blink Mink Lash Bar was birth from a faith move. My best friend Latisha Jones kept telling me that I should take the lash class. For months I kept saying I don’t know anything about the beauty industry. Meanwhile back at the ranch, things began to go sour on my job. I began to pray about another stream of income and God brought my best friends words back to my remembrance. I stepped out on Faith and took the class! Almost instantly I fell in love with lashing!! Having never picked up a pair of tweezers to tweeze my eyebrows, I had become a success at lashing. My marketplace mentor Laurona Phelps, pushed me not just be another “lash girl”, but invest in my brand. I was referred to Jarvis Releford, a creative force in brand consulting, and he took Blink Mink Lash Bar and gave it the lift it needed! I would work from 8:30 to 5:30 and lash until 2am in the morning. Seven months later, I was released from my 9-5 and I went into full time entrepreneurship. I went to Atlanta Threading Salon on Lenox Rd. to get my eyebrows threaded the owner asked if I’d be interested in making Blink Mink Lash Bar a home there with them and I’ve been there since!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This journey has not been smooth at all. My children have had to sacrifice time to accommodate building a business. It takes sacrifice in time and money to build the brand.

Please tell us about Blink Mink Lash Bar.
I am a Master Lastician. I install faux mink eyelash extensions to enhance your natural lash pattern. I do this by isolating each individual lash and applying a single lash extension to the lash to provide a beautiful full look. I am most proud of to be able to play a part in making the everyday woman feel even more beautiful!! I take my job seriously and my 6am clients receive the same excellence as my 6pm client! I LOVE what I do!

What sets Blink Mink Lash Bar apart from the others is the quality and care in the service I provide! I educate my clients and put my best effort into being professional and personable with them! A beauty upgrade is only an appointment away!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could do anything over it would be to start earlier than I did!
