Meet Tanisha Lee of Soirees by Lee in South Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanisha Lee.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey began in 2010 when a friend of mine asked me to serve as a Hostess for her wedding. She joked that I was the only person she could think of to rally everyone together and help keep the peace at the wedding. From that moment on I knew I’d be a planner. It was so much fun and I felt like part of the family.

My love of love and celebrating life’s moments has fueled my passion for producing weddings with heart. Over the past seven years I can truly say that my couples have been the best and are what motivate me to be my best.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life is certainly filled with highs and lows. Along my journey as a Wedding Planner I have certainly experienced both. I remember just 3 years ago I almost gave up. After moving to Georgia from South Carolina I was nervous about marketing in such a large city with so many established planners. I had decided to take my website down and as soon as I was about to begin deleting things my first Atlanta inquiry came through. I was hesitant but the bride to be was so kind and excited I decided to meet with her. During our consult she mentioned she had been following my journey and knew I’d be her planner when he proposed. I booked her on the spot and well let’s just say the site is still up and running!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Soirees by Lee – what should we know?
Soirees by Lee is not just about producing fancy events, we give back. We plan weddings that have heart and exude love. We also donate a portion of proceeds to various charitable organizations.

More recently we launched our #spreadthelove campaign which encourages our clients to give back by donating their flowers to nursing homes, giving their unwanted decor to a future SBL couple and in so many other ways. Quite simply we believe love should be celebrated by all.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Compassion and a spirit of community over competition. I’m a firm believer in sharing my knowledge others in the Wedding Community which is why we founded The Collective, a support group for those planning weddings.
