Meet Teddy Jones of YourBoyTed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teddy Jones.

Teddy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Africa… once upon a time. No, that won’t do, there’s no getting away from the date: I was born in Nairobi, Kenya on October 26th, 1997. The time matters, too.” Everything about this day is significant to me. Because I would’ve never thought that my next 21 years of living would’ve unfolded the way they did. You can call me YourBoyTed and this is my story. Being from another country and having the opportunity to travel and see different places and meet new people was the starting point of my self-discovery journey. I learned to see things from different perspectives instead of just one. I saw that everything in life had a balance between good and bad, and I wanted to share what I was learning and seeing with others but I didn’t know how to exactly. I knew one thing though, music made life look beautiful. Music brought a sense of oneness to the listeners and I loved that so I started DJ’ing pretty early on in life. I love to be completely free when it comes to music, it helps express things that sometimes words just can do it. I hope to find a way to use my music as a therapeutic aid for people who need it. I’ve seen a lot of pain in people’s eyes but those same people have come to do so much great things for themselves and this world when given the opportunity. I always help everyone who comes along into my life its what we are supposed to do as a society, we should treat each other as brothers and sisters. But we always find a way to separate each other and I got tired of seeing this so I started filming what I saw around me the love and the pain sometimes and eventually, I was shooting videos and taking pictures. I was able to bring these two crafts and make different compositions of work. It didn’t just happen in a day though and it wasn’t easy in fact it wasn’t always fun, but I truly believe that if you have a love and passion for something and that same thing inspires or helps others better themselves. Then, you should master that craft and be the best at it and never forget to help the world. Because the world builds us and shapes us. I started my journey 21 years ago, in a place so far away literally, but the stories and the people I’ve met along away. That’s what inspires me to be a better creator so I can share the love and I know I still have so much more to offer for someone who hasn’t met me before I would say my website would be a great place to go to know a little more about me. I started creating different styles of work 5 years ago. But my story started on October 26th, 1997.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not realizing how big the world was early enough and how one soul can change so many.

YourBoyTed – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
YourBoyTed as I go by, I’m a D.J, A.R, Photographer, and Film-maker. I also work on websites, I’m still in school but I’ve made a couple of websites for local business including myself. Most people would say they’ve seen me shooting pictures or DJ-ing an event, but I love working on different things even out of my comfort zone it builds character in someone. And I that’s what I’m most proud of myself as a business. Ive built character learning to balance different things and making them work. Seeing satisfied clients is really a blessing to me I love it. And thats honestly what sets me apart. As an owner of a business, I understand that I’m dealing with people and I know that everyone just wants to be happy. So, I make sure I give that to them.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is hard to explain. Time is a funny thing you never know where it takes you, so I just work really hard and I’m very passionate with everything I do so as long as I keep that in mind I can do the impossible.
