Meet Teesha Renee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teesha Renee.

Teesha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been acting on stage ever since I was a kid and have always maintained the desire to become a professional actress. Upon graduating from Georgia State in 2017 I decided to dedicate to acting full time. With lots of unpaid work, long nights and serious dedication and three years later, I’ve landed the role of my dreams as a Series Regular on the new Tyler Perry show The Oval! What a blessing.

Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t call what I experienced a struggle. Was it challenging and hard work, definitely! But I’ve always known that I would end up where I am now, and I believe that is the key to success. Truly believing 100% in your goal and just knowing that it’s just a matter of time before you achieve it. I don’t buy into the idea that the entertainment industry is “harsh” and based on luck, it’s truly what you make it based on your belief system.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a professional actress located in Atlanta, GA. I’m currently focusing on Film, Television and Commercials but my first love and where I started is with Theater. I’ve done alot of very fun, and creatively fulfilling independent projects all throughout Atlanta depicting various characters, but I would say drama is my favorite.

I am most proud of myself for sticking it out, believing that I could do this and dedicating my all to my craft. As a result, I would think that it has paid off greatly!

What sets me apart is definitely the way that I think and the way I view the world. I truly believe in speaking manifestations into existence and re-creating your reality. Most people do not realize that you can truly achieve have be or do ANYTHING that you desire, but it starts what with you believe.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I grew in in Metro Atlanta, raised in Lithonia, GA on the East side of town and I never imagined that this city would become a little Hollywood. I always knew that I would have to move to Los Angels at some point, but for now it looks like opportunities are growing more and more each day here. Although, I will say that eventually I will see myself moving to LA temporarily or becoming bicoastal for the opportunities there, but Atlanta will always be home.

The truth of the matter is, LA is still the place to be when it comes to acting especially for the leading roles that I plan to snatch up in the near future. In order to have a fair fighting chance, it definitely helps to be in LA. That is changing, but I don’t think Atlanta is quite ready to cast major lead roles out of here. I’m hoping that will change.
