Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrance Hutchinson.
Terrance, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2009 that left me in ICU at The Dekalb Medical Center for 3 1/2 days. Four other people were admitted with complications of this lifestyle disease, but I was one only to get out alive.
It went from 240 lbs to 200lbs in three days with my blood glucose in 1380 and A1C at 9.5. After that scare, I got educated, back in great shape and started my business, Best Lifestyle Fitness, and Nutrition. Life has a way of breaking you apart and putting you back together again. It all was a “set up” for greatness.
Since launching in 2010, I have created a platform to coach and consult with people in my community and around the world on the importance of health and wellness through health conferences, seminars, webinars, public speaking, classroom settings, corporations gyms and more.
I’ve written 2 books 150 Recipes To Transform Your Body, 25 Irresistible Dessert You can Indulge, and F**K DIABETES, 7 STRATEGIES FOR TRANSFORMATION which will be released in the fall.
I’ve contributed health and wellness articles for many magazine publications, the Atlanta Journal Newspaper, and The The Atlanta Voice Newspaper.
I am the host of my award-nominated radio show, The Total Wellness Show with Terrance which highlighted medical doctors, dietitian, physical therapist, chiropractors, and many more experts to help bring awareness of mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, environmental wellness to different cultures in over 52 countries and over 1.5 million listeners.
Best Lifestyle Fitness and Nutrition has partnered with Dekalb Country Men’s Health Initiative to help low-income males get the medical help they need.
We are working with Olethia Robinson’s the Artist Rock The Mic Foundation to help homeless college students get the proper nutrition they need for great academic success and provide them with a place to stay, food, blankets, coats, school supplies, and money. Imagine being in college and the homeless. I can’t see that.
We are with Tim Ray’sThe United Intentions Foundation that brings awareness of intentional conscious thinking of lifestyles whether it’s mental, spiritual, emotional, environmental, financial awareness kids, young adults, and even to older adults who are ready to have an opened mindset to changes. These programs are on a global stage with tons of expert advice 24/7.
I am also the Senior Vice President of Operations for the Defiant One’s Teen Magazine. A magazine created by teens for teens. Www.Defiantonesmag.com
My goal with my company is to stimulate people to take back control of their health with mindful food consumption, purposeful exercise, meditation, stress management, mental health strategies, and more. We live in a society that suffers from an obesity epidemic and full of diseases that can be prevented through though awareness and changing of the mind. Visit my blog at Www.Corporate49.Wordpress.
At Best Lifestyle Fitness and Nutrition, we help change lives from the inside out.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My challenges were to get rid of the idea that I needed to “maintain” diabetes to live versus reversing diabetes to live. I did that, but it didn’t come with an emotional, mental, and spiritual shift.
Those shifts will break you down and pull back layers and reveal yourself to yourself. That was one of the biggest challenges I ever faced because it forced me to strip away and make sacrifices I wasn’t ready to make.
Best Lifestyle Fitness and Nutrition – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success beyond the monetary value. Success is helping your family, community, giving back to others,
Success is about giving more value in your brand so that others can depend and trust in your products and services.
Success is about leaving an impact on the world. What would they say at you eulogy?
