Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrence Fagan Jr.
Terrence, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up I was always told that I was different. I can remember that people would ask why I wore my shirt the way I did. You know most males would leave the top two buttons of their shirts unbuttoned. I would button up all the way to my neck no matter where I was going or what shirt or t-shirt I wore. I was born in Chicago, Illinois. My parents took me to live in their home country Jamaica for a while. I am somewhat a sheltered child. Whilst in Jamaica, I went to private school where I got involved in many different activities to include track and field which I still do today. I then came back home to the USA for a year, after which I went back to Jamaica! At eight years old, I went to Canada to live for a couple of years until I came back home to the USA. Now I’m older and I understand things better, I realized that my mom and I went to Canada because my parents were not together anymore. During that time, I did not know because they behaved like they were together just the same, only that my dad was not living with us anymore. I missed my dad so much at the time but my mom would get me involved in a lot of activities and made me read mindset book to keep me focused rather than worrying. I can remember when my dad called, I was the happiest. I was on top of the moon when we began living like a real family again. Yes,
my parents are back together.
Because I moved so much, people would asked how come I moved so much and it does not affect me. I try not to allow things to get me down, so usually I put a positive spin to say at my age, not many persons have lived in three countries. The lesson we all should learn here is to not allow our circumstances to define who we are and what we can become. You know you make a boy’s day when you get him a toy car or truck. However, Whilst boys were getting toy trucks and trains, I was getting books and more books. My mom would get me books as birthday gifts, books for Christmas gifts and every holiday I can remember. I read Think And Grow Rich when I was about 8 years old. I had to read book from the bible every night before bed in addition to saying one specific affirmation that my mom and I came up with. I’m sure you know Tony Robbins book, ‘Money Master The Game’. It was published in 2014 and I’d just turned 11
years old and my mom bought the 638 page book that we had to read. My point is, I was exposed to things boys my age were not exposed to. Thank God for my dad, he really knows how to balance things for me. He would get me my toys to bring smiles on my face. As I grew older, I realized I wanted to reach more youths so I decided I would write a book. I have been a christian very early. You understand why my childhood was different than many children. I would not change it for anything though because it has worked for me and kept me grounded.
My youth empowerment mission sated when I saw the path many youths were on. As youths, we can do anything we want to do if we believe in ourselves and take action. However, too many youths are not! That’s why I’m on this mission to inspire and empower my peers to do what’s necessary now to achieve success whilst we’re still young! I do this through the videos and other kinds of posts I put out on social media, my youth empowerment and mentorship programs, my Youth Empowerment Podcast and a free virtual summit that I’ve hosted.
My entrepreneurial journey started a little over three years ago at 12 years old when my mom took me to my very first self-development conference in Canada! It was an eye-opener for me as I was in a room packed with entrepreneurs and speakers like Ms. Sheron Lechter, Mr. Raymond Aaron and many others who were sharing some real good business strategies. One of the things which impacted me the most was the people who encouraged me and had real talks with me. This included Mr. Mike Schryer who pulled me aside and said, Terrence, you’re going to do great things….”. That stuck in my mind up to today. I take the opportunity to say as adults when you come in contact with people especially youths, encourage them as much as you can because you never know the impact of your words. Today I continue to dedicate my life to helping my peers to take the right action today for the success they want for tomorrow.
Fast forward to now, I am the author of two books and numerous journals and planners that are sold on Amazon. My books are, ‘Youths Empowered For Success: Take The Right Action Today For Your Success Tomorrow’ that’s in the Library of Congress and ‘Kindle Book Business: 3 Step Guide To Passive Income On Amazon’. I am a dual enrollment student who attends both high school and college simultaneously! I’m pursuing computer programming in college! I’m a youth mentor and a youth speaker who use my platform to inspire and empower youths to take the right action today for the success they want for tomorrow!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The truth is, my biggest challenge was moving so much, but like I told you earlier, I’ve learnt very early to find that one opportunity from what seems to many like a setback! I tell people when they ask me about moving so much that, “I’m blessed to have travelled and lived in three countries at such a young age.” So my journey is not by any means a perfect one but it is manageable and this is as a direct result of the support I have around me! Another challenging part of my journey is juggling high school, college and carrying out my youth empowerment mission!
Truth is, I’m thankful and feeling blessed for all that’s happening in my life right now. I’d rather make the sacrifices now whilst I’m young to ensure I have the kind of success I want for tomorrow!

I am known as the youth who helps other youths to take the right action now to ensure they have the success they want for tomorrow. The most rewarding part of my business is empowering youths to be the best version of themselves from now rather than waiting for later!
The thing which sets me apart from others is that I can relate to the audience I serve because I’m a youth myself! I just turned 16 this November!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I’m still a 16-year-old. However, my favorite childhood memory is getting picked up from school by my dad and taken to get food and then going to our family business to help! That was fun because I love spending time with my dad. Once my dad and I are spending time together, I’m good. Even now, my dad knows exactly when I feel overwhelmed I want to get away to relax.
Thank you so much for allowing me to share my story to inspire others!
