Today, we’d like to introduce you to Tifani Grimes. Tifani was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Sonya Hernandez.
Tifani, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
Growing up, many knew me for my athletic achievements and health-conscious mindset, well before I even considered stepping foot in front of a camera. I spent 20+ years of my life involved in track & field, greatly influenced by my dad, a reputable Wellness Chiropractor, and Master’s Division World Record holder. It was under his guidance as my coach, that I decided to compete, investing hours of intense training, faced with plenty of mental and physical adversity. In return, I gained a wealth of knowledge and memories to last a lifetime, such as winning an Adidas Scholar-Athlete competition at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials and internationally in Sydney, Australia. I also placed in the top national rankings at State Meet Championships in 3 events and attended UC Berkeley, where I completed my track career as a Heptathlete, Team Captain, and Honors Graduate in Public Health.
As a student-athlete, I learned that versatility was a gift, and being open to learning and trying new things, an even greater one. So, I spent the next season of my life building a career in modeling. My first major debut was in the Philippines where I became a tourism ambassador for Puerto-Princessa’s Underground River (ranked one of the 7 Wonders of the World) and successfully placed 2nd Runner Up in one of the most prestigious pageants in the country. I later walked the Fashion Week Runways in Paris, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Sacramento to name a few. Somehow, this shy tomboy managed to trade in her sneakers for heels and build a new level of confidence she never could have imagined. This propelled new interests in model coaching, photography, and even recognition as a published wardrobe stylist alongside a team of highly-talented creatives.
I felt so empowered by the life I was creating, that I decided to brand a philosophy called “Style Your Happy”, to serve as a reminder to myself and others to find one’s happiness and learn how to put it first. My Auntie Stephanie, who battled breast cancer, was a driving force behind this mission and became an inspiration to live life to the fullest. With this initiative, I started connecting with women, facilitating events, partnering with businesses, and creating safe spaces for mindful practices to support elevating into our best selves.
That brings me to who I am today, a beauty & wellness influencer and self-care advocate, who models a healthy and happy life that I love as a multi-passionate creative, brand partner, and aspiring entrepreneur. I am her and she is me, Tifani G.
As someone who embodied the Style Your Happy mantra, I challenged myself to pursue my passion in health & wellness and explore my interests in entrepreneurship. So, I studied to become a Certified Holistic Health Coach, expanding the knowledge base I acquired growing up in a wellness environment, and started sharing the gift of health with others. Things began to take shape organically, as I shared my health journey and introduced my community of followers to Sea Moss, a mineral-dense algae known for its benefits with immunity support, energy, weight management, collagen, and more. During the pandemic, sea moss became one of the hottest commodities on the market. So as a wellness coach and influencer, it was important for me to provide the tools and resources to help transform my customer and client base mentally, physically, and emotionally toward living a healthy lifestyle. That included implementing customized health coaching programs, yoga in the park, and visits to local farmer’s markets on the weekends. Mindset, balance, and active wellness became vital pillars in understanding true measures of self-care. And that is how LIVMOSS (Making Our Selves Supreme) made its debut as a plant-based supplement and wellness brand in the making!
Sonya Hernandez and Recover Restore Gro have been great to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship with them as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Sonya Hernandez and Recover Restore Gro and your experience with them.
Having experienced the challenges of mixed hair personally and alongside my younger sister who has a full head of beautiful curls, there were many products on the market we had to experiment with. Unaware of labels and the harmful chemicals listed at the time, we continued using these products simply because they worked. But further exploring the depths of my holistic health journey, and developing a greater understanding and care for myself, I began seeking cleaner, non-toxic alternatives for beauty and haircare products.
Then fast-forward to last year when I had the lovely pleasure of connecting with Sonya, and learning about her vegan haircare line Recover Restore Gro. We had an instant connection with our aligned understanding that what we use and consume, be it food, information, products, and even stressors in our environment, shapes our overall health. We collaborated on a Breast Cancer Awareness segment shedding light on healthier choices both internally and topically, as preventative measures for one’s longevity. That is why I value Sonya’s expertise in haircare and appreciate her educational approach to teaching her audience about her ingredient selections, proper product application, etc. via her social feeds and lives. She is a phenomenal resource!
I use the Recover Restore Gro Shampoo and Conditioner regularly and fall in love with it after each use. As someone who generally refrains from using scented products due to skin sensitivities, I can rest assured that my skin and scalp are in good hands with her use of plant-based, gluten-free products such as aloe vera, mango, papaya, and lavender, which also happen to smell divine.
There’s so much to still learn, and I’m thankful to have Sonya as an industry expert in my corner, so I can share more of what I’m learning along this journey with others. Health is Wealth! So, cheers to life and living it more abundantly!
