Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Ervin.
Hi Tiffany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Glam Confidential came to life during the covid pandemic in 2019. The isolation during the pandemic forced me to assess my life, habits, friendships and so much more. I remember being on the phone with a friend and we both were fed up (crying) with how we were living our lives. We knew we had what it took to thrive and stop simply surviving. It was like we were going through the motions in the most mundane way just accepting the bare minimum from ourselves. For myself, I knew that I wanted to show up as the woman I saw myself as in my head. The woman that I painted to others but really had not yet become. My credit was trash, spirituality was off track, I wasn’t taking my health and fitness seriously and I had absolutely no money. I didn’t believe the world would shut down. I didn’t work a traditional job, I was a makeup artist, red carpet host and a small business consultant. To be honest, I never really treated them as businesses, I handled them like hustles so never really developing them. That particular day my friend and I wrote out plans and kind of made a pack with one another. We made a list of our problems and a list of how we could solve them. A list of dreams, goals and aspirations and how we could achieve them. The list covered everything from love & life to a better relationship with God and of course everything in-between.
We wrote descriptions of ourselves and how we would show up to the world… in a perfect world, if nothing could hold us back how would we appear in real life. I decided that day that I didn’t want a hustle anymore I wanted a business that catered to women like myself, like my friends and all the women that I have admired over time. So while everyone was at home chilling during the pandemic, I was working. On top of my list was my credit, I wanted to fix it therefore I needed money. I also wanted a new Benz, lol. So I worked about three jobs during covid. I was delivering for Amazon Flex, a waitress at a bar and when Atlanta businesses opened back up, I worked at a body waxing spa. The experience at the waxing spa is what really helped me to realize I loved being an esthetician and building friendships with all the clients I met through my work. The ladies that I met inspired me and I inspired some of them. Now when I started seeing how much money I was getting paid verses the money I made the establishment is when I knew I needed my own spa. So, Glam Confidential LLC was created. I gave myself six months to learn as much as I could at my job. I saved all my money from the three jobs I had and found my location one day, I was on a stroll down the street for exercise. And as the saying goes, the rest is history.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can’t say that the journey has been entirely smooth. However, I can say that when you decide to look at the process as a journey, it helps you to overcome the challenges that you encounter along the way. I think in the beginning, the most difficult aspect is finding your brand like your true brand as well as your tribe. Knowing how and who you are marketing to in my opinion is one off the biggest challenges. It seems simple but it is one of the most complex aspects of your business and takes a lot of thought, research and preparation. I can not say I have conquered this fully but I am continuously working to learn how to master it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am Tiffany Ervin the owner of Glam Confidential. I am a licensed esthetician and professional makeup artist. Glam Confidential is a luxurious day spa in the heart of Buckhead. We offer glam and self-care services such as full glam, body sculpting, teeth whitening, full-body waxing and much more. We have come to be known for our amazing body sculpting/ contouring services, teeth whitening, Brazilian wax vajacial services.
At Glam Confidential, I believe not only in customer service but creating an experience for each guest that has taken time to come and patronize us. I purposefully play music that is positive, empowering and uplifting to women. I have a customer air freshener that is made to relax anyone that has had a challenging day. And of course, I give everyone an entertaining chat full of laughs and giggles. But honestly, sometimes we cry, sometimes we vent and let out the frustrations of life. I simply try my best to get to know all my clients and create a friendly atmosphere so that they are comfortable and feel pampered. I like to think of Glam Confidential as our “luxurious clubhouse”.
