Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Stone.
Tiffany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After working within Personnel and Staffing for the IT industry a little over 10 yrs., I decided to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the biz upon having my son in 2002. The IT industry was becoming so commoditized, and the need for “personal relationships” with assigned clients was dwindling. I was quickly losing interest in the industry. After a few years of being at home full time with my son, I began “dabbling” within independent recruiting. Because the IT industry had changed so much, I decided to focus within all other industries EXCEPT IT. I also decided to switch gears and focus on perm placement/direct hire vs temporary staffing. Thus, BBR Search was born in 2007. Thanks to a couple of close connections who were both working for marketing agencies in town, I was quickly thrown into the digital marketing world. This area became the perfect mix of my IT background and creative interests. BBR Search has a large focus within the Digital Marketing industry today, and has established solid partnerships with marketing agencies, corporate clients, publisher clients and IT startups.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There is always the challenge of being a Mom and an entrepreneur. 🙂 Two years after my son was born, I gave birth to my daughter. There is no magic recipe on how to balance life. However, by starting my own company I was able to carve out a flexible work schedule which allowed me to be home when my kids were home, or volunteer in their school as needed. The challenge of “balance” still exists today. I must consciously remind myself daily, to properly manage boundaries between work and family.
Another challenge has been finding the right mix between developing new business, and filling the business I have. Since I do all my own sales, all my own recruiting, and all the operational tasks of running my own company – sometimes there doesn’t seem to be enough of “me” to go around. I learned several years ago to focus on “quality” of my work, not “quantity”.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about BBR Search – what should we know?

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My personality and people skills are my strength. I would say I have high emotional intelligence and a strong ability to read/understand people. I have also worked hard over the years to improve my listening skills.
