Meet Jah Jah Kitaii of Kitaii Lands Productions in Gwinnett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jah Jah Kitaii.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jah Jah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m originally from New York, growing up in New York, I had dreams of being in the entertainment business. I was in love with being on camera and entertaining. I started my career dancing in acting and when I move down to Atlanta, around me being 11 or 12, acting and dancing was my outlet. I started working towards it in middle and high school. I was in everything from the course, the band, the step team and, I put together dance groups. I was also in my theater class, in those were my ways of expressing myself. When I got out of high school, my mom gave me an ultimatum, either you start working or you go to college, she told me she would give me a year to figure out what I wanted to do within the year. I started getting into the entertainment business, I started off as a dancer. I did a couple of feature roles and I did some acting and I fell in love with the production aspect of television and movies, so while everyone was taking a break, I was watching the producers, the videographers, the PA’s, the directors and I was in awe and I knew that that’s was something that I wanted to do witch was create.

Around 2016, I started college and I went to school for digital imaging and marketing those were amazing years for me during that time. I met someone, a radio personality here in Atlanta and she offered me the chance to be on a reality show based here in Atlanta that would follow the lives of LGBTQ men and women. Long story short, I became her assistant she stressed to me that she wanted to continue but I felt like she was not moving quick enough so I said let me produce it. I didn’t know what I was doing but I learned so much within those two months, it didn’t work out and that’s when I brought this idea to a producer here in Atlanta named KL Allen.

I knew that he was doing amazing things here in Atlanta and I’ve done some acting work with him and I brought the idea of doing a reality show and he told me that he was doing a reality show based here in Atlanta as well and we decided to combine ideas and combined our heads to then put together, the first season of G-Status ATL Hustle the first season was a success. I learned so much within that process over how to produce, I learned how to direct, I learned how to edit, I learn how to create, I learn how to be a talent producer and, I learn how to be a publicist and now we are working on our season two and I’m super excited for what’s to come.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road going from job to job just to support my career. I was dealing with personal relations that was extremely toxic that really put a damper on my career and what I was trying to do at the moment.

Dealing with all the different personalities on the show definitely wore me out. I never paid attention to the fans or people that tuned into the show that had negative comments. The majority of the comments was very positive and that’s what kept me going and I knew that I had a bigger purpose with the show, a lot of the difficult moments was me truly doing the whole entire project by myself and keeping up with people demands. But that taught me so much and I’m so thankful for those moments because they made me stronger.
