Meet Toni Williams of Liv2Luv2Liv in Decatur

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toni Williams.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Toni. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Liv2Luv2Liv is short for “Live to Love. Love to Live” which is a motto I try to live by. I wanted to share aspects of my life that I love and two of them happen to be food and travel. I have always been what one would call a foodie. My parents always cooked and on weekends, we would venture out and eating was usually on the agenda when I got older my food adventures were happening in my kitchen because I just couldn’t afford to eat out all the time. I love to cook just as much as I enjoy eating out at a restaurant. Eventually, I got to a place where I could comfortably do both and would casually share my experiences with friends on Facebook or my personal Instagram. At one point, I had a recipe blog but it became more than I could manage, so I abandoned it.

My travels really started with visits to see friends in various cities across the country, and I really enjoyed being able to do so. The universe just so happened to place me in a job that requires me to travel regularly. I am really grateful to have that opportunity. When I am on a work trip, I try to explore the city on my downtime and also seek out good eats. When I get to vacation, I like to fully immerse myself in the city and culture. I love experiencing new things and observing how others live. I decided to start a blog and Instagram page to share more of my food and travel adventures with people. These are two things that can unite and bring people together, and I am honored to be a part of that.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
When I decided to start Liv2Luv2Liv, I didn’t know what I was doing. I was just posting things, not really thinking about the quality of the content. This quickly changed as I began to learn more and observe what other bloggers were doing. I have learned a lot from my fellow bloggers and content creators. I began to put more effort into the quality of my photos and more thought into my content overall. I am still learning and I embrace it.

I think it is important to not get lost in the numbers game (number of followers, number of likes, etc.) and focus more on enjoying what you do. Yes, I want people to connect with and like my content, but that isn’t what drives me. I post what I post out of my love for those things, hoping others can see my joy through my content. It is challenging to find ways to make my content unique. This is still something I am working on but I am having fun while I figure it out.

We’d love to hear more about Liv2Luv2Liv.
Liv2Luv2Liv focuses on my food and travel adventures- places I travel to for work and pleasure, restaurants I eat at, what I cook at home, etc. I recently started posting recipes to my blog and even started playing with IGTV by posting cocktail videos. A lot of us are at home right now, and I want to share with people not only what I am making but that they can totally do it too.

In the future, I hope to include more aspects of my life that I love. I want to share even more of myself with people- show them I do more than just eat and travel.

What were you like growing up?
I have always been a pretty extroverted person. As a kid, I loved school and was involved in everything: chorus, band, art club, drama cub, academic clubs, etc. I was quite a good student. I liked being around people and I liked performing for people. That kind of led me down the theatre and performance path. In high school, I was in most of the school plays and musicals, I was in TV production and did the daily morning news for the school, and I even hosted certain after-school events. I eventually majored in theatre in college. Up until a couple of years ago, theatre and performance were always a part of my life. I am hoping to find my way back to it soon and incorporate aspects of that side of me into Liv2Luv2liv.
