Today we’d like to introduce you to Torrie White.
Hi Torrie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
White House Artistry is my baby! She’s still being groomed, but I am loving watching “her” grow…
I’m 2008, I attended Jacksonville State as an English/Theatre Major. I had a scholarship for theatre. I loved acting! Later, I was introduced to set design and stage makeup and I did NOT like it! “I’m here to act, not to do makeup and build stuff!” However, it turned out to be one of the best things for me and for my new BABY, White House Artistry LLC.
I fell in looooooove with makeup. I wanted to make over everyone’s face, “just because.” My desire to get better and learn more about the industry became so intense. I enrolled in several classes in order to perfect my craft. I worked several jobs before starting my own business. I even tried managing other businesses before making WHA my own.
Today, White House Artistry not only offers face enhancements but provides hair styling services and waist jewelry. Now, travel is an option, mortuary makeup, and we are still adding to our list of services.
With God,
With Family,
With Friends
With Clients,
With Support,
My baby keeps giving BIRTH.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing about being an entrepreneur is easy! Nothing. I mean, nothing.
You are the marketing manager, the receptionist, the event planner, the “face,” the social media expert, the content creator, the cameraman, inventory keeper, the accountant, and so on…
I’ve given up plenty of days, but my passion will not allow me to walk away. There have been weeks where I’ve made money and weeks where I have made none, but every week I get to do what I absolutely LOVE!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a creative makeup artist that specializes in full-face enhancements. I am most proud of my recent certification in mortuary makeup.
I believe what sets me apart from other makeup artists is that I not only offer makeover services but I provide an experience. From the time of booking, my goal is to exceed your expectations.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5 to 10 years, I see the White House owning a mobile beauty RV; providing makeup tours! Being able to attend outdoor events with our beauty bar on the road…
White House Artistry has BIG things in store.
