Meet Trailblazer Cassieandre Jones and Lynetta Holly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassieandre Jones and Lynetta Holly.

Please kick things off for us – where does the story start and how did you get to where you are today?
I was born in a small country town in Alabama, that had two traffic lights and a stop sign. As a child watching videos from New York music artists, I just knew the stork dropped me off in the wrong city, state, and zip code. As a child, I was a dreamer and most of my family was so content with a life that they assumed I was weird. At the age of 20, I attended Troy State University for Design Innovation. I ended up teaching myself how to do graphics, so I dropped out of college. I started throwing local parties which made me fast money but I quickly got bored. My mom Holly and I invested in our online boutique Rich Girl’s Closet in 2009. We just celebrated 9 years in business September 1st of this year. At the age of 25, my cousin and I owned a half a million dollar company. In May of 2017, I decided to create a beauty sister company to Rich Girl’s Closet called Pink Caviar. The beauty industry is a multi-trillion dollar industry. I simply wanted a piece of the pie. It is so many different avenues in this business and lashes and brows was my first choice.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Unfortunately, in business, it’s never a smooth road. One of my struggles is I want everything perfect because I’m a perfectionist. I quickly learned that everything will not go my way and I have to work with the cards that I’m dealt with. I can’t worry about things I can’t change. I just have to pray about it and thank God for the circumstance because he’s working it out for my good. My advice for women is to focus on your dreams and anything that is a distraction has to go. Make sure you have good credit and hired a great team. A great team will help you grow your business faster than you doing it by yourself. Don’t hire friends and family. Business and personal don’t mix well. Pay your staff minimum wage until you can afford to give them a raise because you still need to pay yourself. In addition, you have supplies and merchandise to purchase. Don’t mix your bank accounts. Personal accounts are for personal only and business accounts are for business purchases only. Know where your money is going and figure out ways to cut cost. Be consistent with marketing and advertising. Last but not least, the reason why you see Walmart, Walgreen’s, and CVS on every corner is because they have a great store policy. Don’t be afraid to give refunds to customers who are not satisfied. That one customer you refuse a refund too can leave a bad review which could possibly turn away potential customers. Excellent customer service, a great product, and a good store policy will give you customer retention to stay in business. Without customers, you don’t have a business.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Pink Caviar Lash & Brow Spa – what should we know?
I’m the owner of Pink Caviar Lash & Brow Spa. We specialize in lash extensions, brows, threading, and facials. We also offer make-up, microblading, and teeth whitening. I’m also planning to add additional beauty services like IV Hydration Therapy in the near future. I’m most proud of my brand’s growth. It was an idea that was a mere thought. Without our customers support, it would have remained just an imagination. I am very proud that I can offer opportunities to young people to follow their passion. I have a wonderful staff, Amber, Aliyah, and Brandie, Keimya, Terrika, Emerauld, and Jay they give me 110% every day. What sets us apart is that our technicians are top of the line and have to audition to be a part of our team. We pride ourselves in delivering excellent customer service and, of course, the chic décor and warm environment add the finishing touch.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
It’s so many opportunities out here for women. Some people tend to complain about the challenges and some choose to boss up. It really depends on the individual. Women rule the world, it’s nothing that we can’t do. As far as opportunities, women are well positioned for whatever position you put us in, we will figure it out and do it well, but our favorite position is CEO because we like to run things.
