Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Gill.
Remote in-hand, Monique grew-up creating stories in her living room “playing TV.” She entertained friends and family with original characters with just a “click.” The Atlanta creator rose from the nine-year-old filming family functions to film Director.
Monique graduated from Stone Mountain, Georgia’s, Stephenson High School. She earned degrees in Broadcasting and Public Relations from Mississippi State University. It was at Stephenson Monique fell in love with filmmaking. While producing Jag-8 News and Entertainment, she won first place in the Dekalb County Technology fair for her news-package titled “Where has Chivalry Gone?”
While attending MSU, Monique partnered with the University Television Center where she directed live broadcasts of Take 30 News. A highlight of her college experience was interning with the MSU Riley Center in Meridian, MS, composing a variety of educational and marketing projects with acts such as Eddie Levert of the O’Jay’s and Jars of Clay.
In an effort to encourage young women, to “use their unique skills and talents for partnerships & entrepreneurship,” she began hosting the Motivational Workshop, a 1-day, youth entrepreneurship & development summit, throughout the Metro Atlanta area. In addition to teaching Video Broadcasting & graphic design in Fulton County, Monique continues to direct and create original content.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about MoKnowsBest – what should we know?
MoKnowsBest is a multi-faceted brand based in 3 major pillars; service, entertainment and education. MKB offers master digital graphics, photography and film services for retail & commercial marketing.
Moknowsbest Originals, however, are stories I write, produce and direct about the fun and the funk we feel as we uncover truth and heal through trauma. The mission of MKB Originals is to bring harmony to self-awareness and trauma recovery through conscious storytelling.
As a licensed educator, I combine my experience within the Fulton County School System to mentor and develop youth. Best known for my entrepreneurial-based teaching styles, I encourage financial independence through ownership in my students. I am most proud of my ability to translate my knowledge to young students in my classrom and watch them grow and create their own avenues of success. What sets MKB a part is wanting to see people love themselves, love what they create and win.
